EA Sports College Football 26 Gets the Sweet Pop-Tarts Bowl Mascot Update

The Pop-Tart mascot is officially coming to EA Sports College Football 26, marking one of the more unexpected but fan-favorite additions to the upcoming game. EA Sports confirmed on Monday, June 23, that the anthropomorphic toaster pastry from the Pop-Tarts Bowl will be included in this year’s release, alongside other tradition-focused updates.

The Pop-Tart mascot has gained viral fame recently for its offbeat role in one of the sport’s quirkiest postseason games.

After the Pop-Tarts Bowl, the oversized mascot is ceremoniously placed into a giant toaster, only for a fresh, edible version to appear. The winning team then devours it in one of college football’s most bizarre (and oddly beloved) bowl rituals. Now, fans can expect to see that same playful absurdity brought to life in the digital world.

But the Pop-Tart isn’t the only mascot making its debut. EA Sports is expanding its lineup of school mascots significantly, with over 30 new ones being added. Schools like the Army, Navy, Kansas, and Colorado State are just a few of the programs getting enhanced in-game representation.

This move is part of EA Sports’ broader effort to emphasize authenticity and school spirit throughout EA Sports College Football 26.

In addition to mascots, EA Sports is enhancing other iconic aspects of college football culture. Expect to see more realistic marching band formations, school-specific light and drone shows, and unique run-outs that mirror real-life traditions.

Rivalry trophies are also getting a boost, with more of college football’s most storied hardware, like the Paul Bunyan Axe or the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, represented in-game.

EA Sports College Football 26 will launch on July 10 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For eager fans, pre-orders are already open through the EA Sports MVP Bundle, including College Football 26 and Madden 26 deluxe editions. Buyers will get early access three days before the official release.

While EA Sports hasn’t revealed all the updates to modes like Dynasty or Road to Glory, fans can take comfort in knowing that the tradition, chaos, and charm of college football, including the Pop-Tart mascot, are front and center.
