The injuries rolled in all throughout the day on Sunday, but they seemed to be only centered around the quarterback position. We saw some key names go down, so what does the QB rankings landscape look like going into Week 9?
With the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, and Jacksonville Jaguars on bye, there’s a lot to sort through. With that in mind, here are my early Week 9 fantasy football QB rankings.

Top QBs To Start in Week 9
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
The QB landscape for Week 9 is a bit depressing. With some key names at the position on bye, plus the injuries to players like Matthew Stafford and Kirk Cousins, there are only a handful of names that are actually reliable starters.
While he didn’t have a dominant performance in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers, C.J. Stroud is worth going back to this week in a plus matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are allowing the 10th-most fantasy points to the QB position this season.
As you can see above, you’re rolling the dice with several other options once you get outside the top 10. Stroud belongs in the starting conversation this week.
Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts
Garnder Minshew hasn’t exactly been lighting the scoreboard up here recently, but he has a plus matchup in front of him in Week 9 against Carolina, and that’s honestly enough to put him into the streaming conversation.
The Panthers have been gashed by opposing RBs this season, which has made them look fairly stout against QBs from a fantasy standpoint, but the opportunity is there for Minshew. If you’re in need of a streaming option and Minshew’s on the waiver wire, he’s a solid option to chase after.
