Ryan Fitzpatrick Reveals the Wedding Moment That Made Him Cry

Swift tied the knot with Kelce on Friday, July 3, in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York. The wedding was a multi-day affair, with every event carefully curated by Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Dior Women’s, Men’s, and Haute Couture collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom.

While Swift and Kelce’s stunning wedding looks drew widespread praise, many guests could not stop talking about the pop star’s heartfelt performance during the ceremony, which left even hardened veterans in tears.

Speaking at the ACC Golf Championship this week, Fitzpatrick, who played quarterback in the NFL for 17 seasons, admitted the moment left him emotional. When asked whether the hit song “Love Story” was played when Swift walked down the aisle, Fitzpatrick replied:

“Yes, and I may have cried. It was very emotional and also very fun and funny, too. So, it had all the feels.”

Fitzpatrick was also asked to address several viral rumors surrounding the ceremony, including claims that Swift’s cats served as ring bearers and that Patrick Mahomes threw the wedding ring to Kelce. He quickly dismissed both stories as false.

When asked whether Kelce was more emotional than Swift during the ceremony, Fitzpatrick responded, “That would be true.”

He further hinted that Kelce may have shed a few tears.

“You know, it was kind of far away. It might have been sweat that got in his eyes. I’m not sure. It was kind of far away, so I can’t tell you 100%,” the former Buffalo Bills quarterback added.

Fitzpatrick was also asked whether “he did cry a little bit,” to which he replied, “No doubt, I was teary.”

Fitzpatrick wasn’t the only one in awe of the wedding’s unique touches. Rather than having a traditional bridal party, Swift’s brother Austin served as her “man of honor,” while Kelce’s brother and former Eagles center Jason took on the role of best man.

Current and former Chiefs were in attendance, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Creed Humphrey, Jared Wiley, George Karlaftis, former Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who now plays for the Detroit Lions, and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is now with the New York Giants, among others.

Meanwhile, the couple’s close friend, Adam Sandler, who appeared alongside Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2, officiated the ceremony. According to reports, Sandler wanted to make the occasion memorable, carefully crafting his remarks while adding his signature humor to the celebration.
