As the NFL heads into Week 9, several teams are dealing with significant injury questions. The 2025 NFL season is wrapping up October and heading into November, so teams are facing crunch time when it comes to healthy bodies.
For NFL fans and fantasy managers, the injury list is critical for understanding who might be out or limited in the upcoming games. Here’s a breakdown of the notable injuries and what you need to know about them.
Week 9 NFL Injury Report
Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders
Heading into their Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football,” Commanders head coach Dan Quinn had hoped to have wide receiver Terry McLaurin available.
On Wednesday, though, Quinn announced that McLaurin, who has been dealing with a quad injury, has been ruled out. The NFL’s X account shared the news on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Commanders have a 79.9 Impact Score and grade out at a C+. With Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels returning to practice on Wednesday, he’ll be without one of his key receivers on Sunday night.
Bucky Irving, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has been out of action for a bit. Irving, who has been dealing with foot and shoulder injuries, did not play in last Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Buccaneers have their bye week this week, so Irving will have more time to heal. It’s not known if he’ll be ready for Tampa Bay’s next game.
In the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Irving has a 65.3 RB Impact Score and grades out with a D. In four games for the Buccaneers this season, he has 71 carries for 237 yards and no touchdowns. In the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, Tampa Bay has a 73.0 Offense Impact Score behind quarterback Baker Mayfield and grades out with a C.
Travis Hunter, WR-CB, Jacksonville Jaguars
On Friday, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie two-way star Travis Hunter was placed on Injured Reserve after injuring his knee in practice on Thursday. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Friday, “Initial testing revealed that Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter’s ACL is intact, per source. Hunter is going through additional testing to determine the extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined, and no answers are expected before next week.”
Joe Mixon, RB, Houston Texans
Joe Mixon remains on the Texans’ injured reserve list. He has been dealing with a foot injury since before the season started.
On Monday, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said he had no update on Mixon’s status, according to Aaron Wilson of Houston TV station KPRC.

There is no timetable for Mixon’s return. The Texans have turned to Nick Chubb and rookie Woody Marks to take up the slack.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported more than three weeks ago that Trey Benson, the Arizona Cardinals’ RB2 to open the season, is on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury. Benson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus.
Right now it’s difficult to project when the following RBs are returning;
Bucky Irving
Omarion Hampton
Trey Benson
Joe Mixon
Braelon Allen
MarShawn Lloyd
Phil MafahI expect Mixon to miss the entire season.
I expect Saquon and Judkins to return after their byes. Pacheco…
