Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been out with a hamstring injury, but he practiced this week. With a Week 8 game on Sunday, Oct. 26, Jackson was listed as questionable to play.
The Ravens star has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since September 28. Without Jackson, Baltimore lost two more games, and the team is currently on a four-game losing streak.
Lamar Jackson Injury Update
This week, Jackson returned to practice, and there was optimism that he would play against the Chicago Bears. However, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh didn’t indicate he would play against the Bears this Sunday. Harbaugh did say, “We’ll see where we’re at going forward.”
Unfortunately, on Saturday, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Jackson will not play this week against the Bears. “Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will miss his third straight game Sunday due to his hamstring injury, and Ravens QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is set to start vs. the Bears, per league sources,” he wrote on X. Jackson is expected to return from his hamstring injury Thursday night in Miami versus the Dolphins.”

Baltimore’s on a short week coming out of this one—with a game against the Dolphins on Thursday—so it’s easy to see how you can view the decision made through a two-game lens. https://t.co/w407wSwM5l

With Jackson out, Tyler Huntley will be the team’s starting quarterback. Apart from Jackson, the Ravens will be at their healthiest peak going into this matchup against the Bears. With most of their starters back on the field, the Ravens are arguably the stronger team. While the Bears are depleted with injuries on both sides of the ball, the advantage goes to Baltimore.
Jackson is expected to make his return in Week 9, but if the Ravens lose against the Bears and drop to 1-6, it will be very tough for the two-time NFL MVP to lead them to the playoffs.
According to the PFSN Offense Impact Metric, the Ravens’ offense is currently ranked 26th in the league with a D+ grade.
All eyes will be on the Ravens and Bears’ key mid-season clash this Sunday. The Ravens were favored to win before Jackson was ruled, but now Chicago will have an advantage in this matchup.
Based on PFSN’s QB Impact metric, Caleb Williams is the 19th-ranked quarterback in the league. However, he certainly has the capability to exploit the Ravens’ defense, which is currently the worst in the league, based on PFSN’s Defense Impact metric.
It looks like it will be a very close game between these two teams. You can watch the Ravens vs. Bears matchup on CBS, and the kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. ET.
