‘We’re Doomed’ — Commanders Fans Devastated Over Shocking Deebo Samuel Injury Update Ahead of Cowboys Clash

A heel injury will keep Deebo Samuel out of the Commanders' Week 7 divisional clash with the Dallas Cowboys, and fans aren't happy.

The NFL 2025-26 season is laden with injuries. Each team is suffering a similar fate, with some teams just unluckier than the others. The Washington Commanders are one such team. They’re sitting with a balanced 3-3 record through the first month of the regular season. But now, the river could flow in any direction.

The Commanders haven’t lost two games in a row, but haven’t won two games in a row. After an impressive win over the Los Angeles Chargers on October 5, they had the chance to string together back-to-back victories, but they fell to the Chicago Bears. To make matters worse, they’ll have to travel to a hostile environment in Dallas for a date with the Cowboys without their top three receivers.

Commanders Fans React to Latest Deebo Samuel Update

Terry McLaurin has already been ruled out and missed three games because of his quad injury. Noah Brown joined him after a Week 2 groin injury. The only player who continued playing with a heel injury was Deebo Samuel. He played the last two games while injured, and now things don’t look perfect.

So far in the 2025 NFL season, Samuel has 34 catches for 315 yards and three touchdowns. His involvement was limited in his last match against the Bears, with four catches for 15 yards. Even so, the latest update to Samuel’s health wasn’t taken lightly by Washington’s fanbase. The chaos was real, and fans are more than concerned.

Some fans see the unspeakable and are very expressive about it. “We’re cooked,” one fan wrote on X. “We’re doomed,” another followed the same sentiment.

One fan wrote how the last-minute 25-24 loss to the Bears now looked less painful. “The Chicago loss hurts worse now,” he wrote.

One fan already anticipated it but feels bad nevertheless. He also came up with a suggestion for the team: “Wowwwwwwwww. Feared that was coming. Rest him for couple weeks & let him heal.”

One fan could not hold back his frustration. He wrote, “Throw the f***ing season away.”

Some fans pondered how QB Jayden Daniels will feel against the Cowboys. He was the man Daniels looked for downfield to get open. “Jayden trying to find our receivers tomorrow,” one fan wrote with a funny GIF.

Samuel was graded a solid B-, with an impact score of 80.9 according to PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact (WRi) metrics. This is a big blow for the team, and they ought to consider the last fan’s advice.

To make matters worse, the Cowboys will be receiving a major reinforcement to their pass-catching corps. They’re expected to have star wideout CeeDee Lamb in the lineup for the first time since he suffered an ankle injury on September 21, 2025. Only time will tell how well the Commanders’ attack will fare against them.
