The NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up three weeks ago, but the evaluation process is far from over. Pro day season is in full swing, with schools across the country giving their draft-eligible players one final opportunity to impress scouts, coaches, and general managers before the 2026 NFL Draft kicks off in Pittsburgh on April 23.
Several marquee pro days remain on the calendar, headlined by Ohio State’s showcase on March 25 featuring four potential top-10 picks. Indiana closes out the circuit on April 1, where Heisman Trophy winner and presumptive No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza will finally throw for NFL evaluators after skipping on-field drills at the combine.

How the Ohio State Buckeyes Could Make NFL Draft History
Ohio State’s pro day on March 25 carries historic implications. Four Buckeyes (linebacker Sonny Styles, edge rusher Arvell Reese, wide receiver Carnell Tate, and safety Caleb Downs) are projected as top-10 picks in most mock drafts.
If all four hear their names called in the top 10 on April 23, Ohio State would become just the third school ever to accomplish that feat, joining Michigan State (1967) and Notre Dame (1946).
Styles turned heads at the combine with a 4.46-second 40-yard dash and a 43.5-inch vertical jump at 6-foot-5 and 244 pounds. Downs, a two-time unanimous All-American, didn’t test in Indianapolis but remains the consensus top safety in the class. Tate is positioned to become the sixth Ohio State receiver drafted in the first round since 2022.
Why the Indiana Hoosiers’ 2026 Pro Day Matters Most
Fernando Mendoza opted to skip on-field drills at the combine, making Indiana’s April 1 pro day his lone opportunity to throw for NFL teams before the draft. The Heisman Trophy winner led the Hoosiers to a perfect 16-0 season and a national championship, completing 72% of his passes for 3,535 yards with 41 touchdowns and six interceptions.
The Las Vegas Raiders hold the No. 1 overall pick, and Mendoza has been locked into that spot since January. His meeting with the Raiders at the combine reportedly went well, and owner Tom Brady’s presence has only heightened interest in the pairing. Mendoza’s pro day will be more coronation than audition, but evaluators will still scrutinize every throw.
