Woody Marks Injury Update: Latest on the Texans RB After Exiting Week 9 vs. Broncos

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks suffered an injury in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos. Here's the latest update on him.

The Houston Texans had a first half full of ups and downs, and led 12-7 at halftime against the Denver Broncos. They have given Bo Nix serious problems, and the Broncos’ offense hasn’t been able to get anything going against the Texans’ defense. On the offensive side of the ball for Houston, after already losing C.J. Stroud to injury, RB Woody Marks went down with one of his own.

What Happened to Woody Marks?

Marks left the game with an apparent injury. He was shaken up after a third-and-goal play that didn’t yield a score. They settled for a field goal and lost Marks.

Marks had just five carries for 10 yards before exiting the game. He was checked out on the sideline by the team trainers. Marks returned to the game shortly after leaving and will be hoping to make a big impact in the absence of Stroud.

Marks has been a bright spot for the Texans in 2025. The rookie running back has taken control of the Houston backfield and has been a big contributor in their offensive success.

Marks is the 41st-ranked running back in the league based on PFSN’s RB Impact metric with an impact score of 64.7. Although his grade is on the lower side, he’s been the best back in the Houston running back room. Nick Chubb has been solid for Houston as well, but Marks adds a threat in the receiving game that Chubb doesn’t offer.

The Texans surrendered the lead after Marks exited the game after Broncos WR Courtland Sutton reeled in a 30-yard touchdown. The Texans weren’t going to go away easily as they responded with points to give themselves a two-point lead heading into halftime.

The offense has looked up to the task after Stroud unfortunately exited with a potential concussion. Backup Davis Mills has come out firing, completing 10 of his first 14 passes for 84 yards. The Texans are coming off a big win over the shorthanded 49ers, and a win against the Broncos would be huge for their rest of the season outlook.

While the division is likely out of reach for Houston, stacking up wins against good teams will bolster their hopes of making the postseason. They still need to play a complete half of football to get the win, but at least Marks will be on the field to give them help on offense without Stroud.
