Angel Reese has been the X-factor for the Atlanta Dream after her arrival from the Chicago Sky. She has crashed the boards like a machine, leading the team with 12.5 rebounds per game. However, her recent form has been a roller coaster. After her career-high game of 31 points against the Mercury, she has struggled with her scoring in the last two games.
Through this dip, she faced the league’s best team, the Minnesota Lynx. Despite struggling offensively over her last two games, Reese once again found her scoring touch while continuing to dominate the glass.
Fans Laud Angel Reese After Breaking Another WNBA Record
Reese set the WNBA record when she recorded 26 rebounds in the Atlanta Dream’s 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday at Crypto.com Arena, the most rebounds in a single game in league history. Now, she went up against Minnesota and continued her domination on the boards while finding her shot from the field as well.
Reese powered through Rhyne Howard to finish through contact to give the Atlanta Dream an 11-point lead at the half. She eventually finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds for her 29th double-double of the season, now the WNBA single-season record, surpassing Alyssa Thomas, who set it in 2023 in a 40-game season.
And that record did not come with ease as the Lynx did their best to prevent Reese from dominating around the rim. Naturally, Reese received 8 free throws as a result of the Lynx’s physicality, making 5 of them. She went 5-9 from the field while adding 2 assists.
Reese argued with the referees too, but fortunately did not receive her 8th technical, especially after her technical against the Portland Fire was rescinded. She even had some words with Courtney Williams after the Lynx guard locked her up around the rim.

Now, Angel Reese takes a break from WNBA basketball as she heads to the World Cup in Berlin. Reese will make her World Cup debut in a different role, playing alongside the best players in the league as they compete for the Gold.
