‘Carrying the League’ — Caitlin Clark Fans Rejoice After Another WNBA Team Change Their Venue vs. Indiana Fever

Caitlin Clark is a superstar. She’s the biggest name in women’s basketball, earning her success through her stellar play at Iowa before making her way to the WNBA as a member of the Indiana Fever.

Since arriving in the WNBA, Clark has seen a rare level of popularity and success. Her popularity has led to increases in revenue, ticket sales, and crowds whenever she plays.

Due to her popularity, teams are changing their venue to suit the larger crowds and the necessary seats to accommodate. Clark and the Fever are the hottest tickets in the WNBA, and the venue changes add to her growing legend.

Dallas Wings Change Venue as Caitlin Clark Comes to Town

The Dallas Wings typically play their games at the College Park Center, located at the University of Texas in Arlington. The arena can seat up to 7,000 people, but as the Indiana Fever comes to town, it seems that the Wings believe they need more seats.

Dallas is moving its June 27 game against the Fever to a larger arena as a result of Clark’s popularity. The Wings are relocating from the College Park Center to the American Airlines Center.

The home of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, the American Airlines Center can hold up to 20,000 fans, almost triple the amount of seats that the College Park Center holds. Fans took to X to celebrate this venue change and crown Clark as the premier star of the league.

“Caitlin carrying the league,” said one fan.

“Wonder why? Anybody know why they would do this? Is Nalyssa Smith really that popular?” said another user.

“The Paige Bueckers effect 💫” wishcasted another fan, hoping the Wings take the UConn star with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

“The face of the W is coming to town! That Caitlin Clark Effect is REAL‼️” said another user.

Even the W itself chimed in on the excitement:

Clark is seen as one of the faces of the league, as she’s one of the most popular players in WNBA and basketball as a whole as we enter the new season.

What’s Next for Clark and the Wings?

Clark’s been in the gym working on her game during the offseason, preparing for a campaign where expectations will be even higher. Will the Fever be able to compete this year and improve upon last year’s record (20-20)?

All signs point to this being a great season for the Fever, but the competition is getting tougher in the WNBA. The Las Vegas Aces, the New York Liberty, and the Minnesota Lynx were seen as some of the top teams of the league, and the Fever will have their work cut out for them to join the rankings.
