Fans and media never stop talking about the Indiana Fever’s sensational guard Caitlin Clark and her incredible exploits on the court. Opponents must have nightmares guarding her, considering her Stephen Curry-like unlimited shooting range on the court. To that point, her rivals, such as Natasha Cloud of the New York Liberty, are being asked what it’s like to guard the superstar.
The Liberty were previously unbeaten until Clark came along and put on a jaw-dropping shooting display in her return from injury after almost three weeks out. She came back on a mission, and the league took notice.
Natasha Cloud Shares What It Is Like Guarding Caitlin Clark
Cloud knows first-hand what Clark is capable of after the Fever’s 102-88 win over the 9-1 Liberty.
Cloud, known for her strong perimeter defense, is in her first year with the defending champion Liberty. She spent eight seasons with the Washington Mystics and one year with the Phoenix Mercury before joining New York. Her new team looked unbeatable to start the season, until they faced Clark’s Fever.
On a TikTok live stream, she spoke succinctly about the hardest aspect of guarding Clark: “Literally, when she crosses half-court, she can shoot that s***.”

It doesn’t get any more to the point than that from the Liberty guard. She’s also not wrong, especially judging by Clark’s performance against New York, where she dropped 32 points on seven 3-pointers.
Most notably, during what many view as the most incredible 38 seconds in WNBA history, Clark hit three straight 3-pointers from the logo in that span. This includes a step-back logo 3-pointer over WNBA star Breanna Stewart, where all she could do was smile in amazement.

To quote WNBA analyst Rebecca Lobo, after she witnessed those 38 seconds: “I’ve been around this league since 1997, I’ve never seen that in a WNBA game.” That is high praise for someone who’s been in tune with the league for almost three decades.
Clark is becoming a must-watch star, as she’s already making a strong claim to be on the path to becoming an all-time great in only her second year. In the process, she’s bringing new eyes to the sport as viewers get excited to see what she is capable of next.
The consummate teammate, Clark will no doubt keep her feet on the ground despite her superstardom. She’s always been focused on team-first achievements over personal accolades.
Cloud’s Liberty look to rebound from their first defeat in the Commissioner’s Cup competition by hosting the Atlanta Dream (8-3) in New York on June 17 at 7 p.m. ET.
As for Clark, her focus will be to continue her incredible form, climb her Fever above a .500 winning percentage, and progress in the Commissioner’s Cup. They face the struggling Connecticut Sun (2-8) on June 17 at 7 p.m. ET.
