The Indiana Fever closed out their 2026 preseason with a 105–57 win over the Nigerian Women’s National Team.
They entered the night carrying a 1–1 preseason record and were not quite over the painful loss to the Dallas Wings in Game 2. But there was nothing hesitant about how they came out Saturday.

Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with a 17-point outing. But Caitlin Clark, who missed 31 games last season due to injury, made a strong impact, as her play gave Fever fans hope that she is slowly picking up her pace.
She managed to score 12 points in Saturday’s game, and that had the WNBA world buzzing well past the final buzzer.
How Did the WNBA World React to Caitlin Clark’s Performance?
Early in the second quarter, Clark brought the ball up the court. She was casually dribbling near the half-court line. Nigerian guard Shay Ijiwoye moved in to apply pressure, but Clark was unbothered. She was playfully talking her way through the moment, keeping Ijiwoye at arm’s length.
Without breaking a sweat, Clark scored a deep three-pointer. The WNBA world didn’t take long to claim that no defense system on earth can contain her when she’s dialed in.
“The best missile defense system in the world can’t stop a Caitlin Clark nuke,” wrote one WNBA content creator, whereas ‘Clark Report’ wrote, “CAITLIN CLARK FROM WAY DOWNTOWN.”

A few possessions later, Clark received a pass from Aliyah Boston, and she was quickly met by Nigerian defender Victoria Macaulay. With a slick fake, Clark created just enough space to dish a perfectly timed pass to Makayla Thompson, who converted the bucket. The WNBA world was quick to spotlight Clark’s playmaking decision.
“Caitlin Clark with the fake and the dime to KK,” wrote ‘Clark Report.’

The most important takeaway from this game was that it wasn’t just a two-player show. Alongside Mitchell and Clark, the Fever saw strong contributions across the board. Damiris Dantas added 16 points, while Thompson scored 12 off the bench. The depth on display didn’t go unnoticed.
“It’s over for the league,” wrote one influencer.

Saturday night was more than a preseason win, as it was a signal that Clark is healthy and ready to perform well in the regular season.
