Over the past few years, many NBA superstars have publicly shown love and support for their WNBA counterparts. Previously, if we see Stephen Curry has celebrated Sabrina Ionescu’s three-point dominance, and even Kevin Durant has praised Breanna Stewart’s all-around excellence.
These moments of cross-league respect have become more common, and they help highlight the growing admiration for women’s basketball. Now, another major moment of mutual recognition has emerged, as NBA legend LeBron James has once again voiced his support for one of the brightest stars in the WNBA, A’ja Wilson, following her jaw-dropping performance during the 2025 WNBA Finals.
LeBron James’ Unique Praise for A’Ja Wilson
Nike recently reposted a highlight video on its official X account that showcased Wilson’s dominance during the Finals and captioned it, “She is who she thinks she is.”
The post immediately drew the attention of basketball fans worldwide, but James’ reaction amplified its reach. The Lakers star reshared the video on his own X account and wrote the caption: “FACTS!!!!!!!!!!”
This isn’t the first time James has praised Wilson. When Wilson won her fourth MVP in September, James took to his Instagram account and posted a story with the caption, “4 piece chicken nugget!!!!”
How Has A’ja Wilson Dominated the Season?
During the 2025 WNBA regular season, Wilson led the Las Vegas Aces to an extraordinary 15-game winning streak that tied for the third-longest in league history. Moreover, during the regular season, Wilson also had the highest number of 20-point and 30-point double-doubles this season.
With the Finals stage in mind, Wilson has just improved her game. In the first three games, she has scored an average of 27.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, and four assists per game.
In Game 3 against the Phoenix Mercury, Wilson poured in 34 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks, connected on 11 of her 20 shots, and converted 11 of 12 from the free-throw line.
Her stat line wasn’t the only thing that turned heads. She also hit the game-winning jumper with just 0.3 seconds remaining, sealing a dramatic 90–88 victory.
With that performance, Wilson not only set a new WNBA Finals record for most points in a single postseason game. But interestingly, she also became the first player in Finals history to post back-to-back games with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds, as per ESPN’s Alexa Philippou.
Game 3 itself was a rollercoaster. The Aces jumped out early, and they led by three after the first quarter and even stretched the margin to 12 at halftime. If we see their biggest lead of the night came in the third quarter when they went up by 17. But even as the Mercury mounted a fierce comeback in the fourth, Las Vegas held firm to clinch the win.
Now, with the Aces just one victory away from another championship, all eyes are on Game 4, which is scheduled for Oct. 10.
