Caitlin Clark has a gravitational pull that rivals any seasoned veteran. Since joining the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, the star guard isn’t just turning heads with her game; she’s generating a financial and cultural wave never seen before.
Despite battling nagging injuries in recent times, the 24-year-old is slowly finding her signature rhythm and has repeatedly delivered spectacular performances. Witnessing this level of playmaking, even basketball royalty can’t help but praise the Fever’s franchise cornerstone.
Rebecca Lobo Lauds Caitlin Clark’s Game-Changing Impact in WNBA
Earlier this month, on July 17, Caitlin Clark dropped a career-high 45 points against the Seattle Storm. She followed it with another 32-point performance on Tuesday night, leading the Fever to a 105-95 win over the Storm at Climate Pledge Arena.
The former Rookie of the Year clocked in 33 minutes and recorded 32 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal on 9-of-14 shooting from the field (64.3%), 4-of-7 from deep (57.1%), and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Appearing on ESPN’s WNBA segment following the Fever’s road win, UConn legend and Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo highlighted Clark’s play and the bond she has forged with Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, forming the Fever’s Big Three.
“I think we’re pretty close to being there,” said Lobo about Clark reaching her ultimate level. “We saw an incredible run from her in her rookie year… this year, there have been a few fits and starts because of some nagging injuries… but she’s been absolutely stellar.”
“I think certainly, right now, we’re once again feeling sort of the power and the presence of Caitlin Clark when she’s playing at full speed.”

Speaking about the Fever’s locker room dynamic, Lobo added, “This whole team has really rallied around what the Big Three are able to do. We saw Kelsey Mitchell tonight. Aliyah Boston was limited because of injury… but I think certainly right now we’re once again feeling the power and presence of Caitlin Clark when she’s playing at full speed.”
“We were talking to both Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston earlier today at their shootaround, and how well they have been playing together and how well they’ve been playing as a trio with Caitlin Clark. They’re just in a different comfort level and groove right now…They have a terrific friendship, the three of them do, both on the court and off the court in terms of their chemistry.”
