Caitlin Clark Continues to Break Records as Fever Advance to Commissioner’s Cup Finals With Win Over Sun

Caitlin Clark sets a new record again as she leads the Fever past the Sun, advancing in the Commissioner’s Cup Finals with another stellar performance.

Caitlin Clark seems to make headlines with every game she plays, and Tuesday night was no exception. The second-year sensation delivered another standout performance to help the Indiana Fever roll past the Connecticut Sun, 88-71, clinching a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup Finals and adding another record to her growing list of achievements.

Clark’s return from injury already gave the Fever a much-needed boost by ending the New York Liberty’s undefeated run. Now, her latest milestone has only strengthened her case as the WNBA’s most electrifying star and made her sophomore campaign even harder to ignore.

Caitlin Clark Continues Historic Early Career With Big Win Over Sun

Few could have predicted how it started or where it would lead, but Clark’s recent stretch reads like a full-blown redemption arc.

It began on May 24, when the Fever dropped a narrow 90–88 loss to the New York Liberty. Clark finished with 18 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds, but also committed nine turnovers and left the floor visibly frustrated. A thigh injury then forced her to miss five games.

When she returned, she faced the Liberty once again. This time, the 9–0 New York team was widely considered the league’s best. Clark responded with a breakout performance, scoring 32 points, including 25 in the first half, to lead Indiana to a shocking 102–88 win. Her pair of deep 3-pointers in under 40 seconds flipped the momentum and helped seal the upset.

Four days later, Clark has now helped power the Fever over the Sun. The performance made her the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 100 points and 50 assists in a season, continuing one of the most electric rookie campaigns the league has seen.

She finished that night with 20 points, six assists, and four made triples, helping Indiana clinch its first-ever spot in the Commissioner’s Cup Final. When she was on the floor, the Fever outscored the Sun by 31 points. That number shows her growing impact on both ends of the court.

There’s still more to add to her successful 2025 campaign. The 23-year-old has totaled 52 points, 15 assists, nine rebounds, and 11 made 3-pointers in her last two games. According to league statistics, no other WNBA player, in the regular season or playoffs, has ever reached those numbers in back-to-back games.

Now, even the most skeptical fans are beginning to see the impact. Note that during her absence, WNBA ratings dipped significantly. With Clark back on the court and delivering record-breaking performances, it’s clear she’s not just a rising star. She has already become essential to the league’s momentum.
