In Photos: Sky Star Angel Reese Goes Viral After Exclusive First-Look at Signature Shoe ‘Angel Reese 1’

Angel Reese unveiled her first Reebok signature shoe, calling herself "just a kid from Baltimore turning dreams into reality."

Angel Reese just dropped something that has WNBA fans losing their minds. The Chicago Sky star revealed her first signature shoe and delivered a message that hit different. From Baltimore to basketball history, Reese is writing her own story one step at a time.

What Makes Angel Reese’s Signature Shoe Deal So Historic?

WNBA star Angel Reese went viral after sharing an inspirational message and an exclusive first look at her first pair of signature shoes, ‘Angel Reese 1’. Fans went wild for the pair, which is reportedly set to be released by Reebok in 2026.

The Chicago Sky star signed with Reebok in October 2023 ahead of her senior season at LSU This happened shortly after Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, a fellow LSU star, was named the president of Reebok Basketball.

“Just a kid from Baltimore, turning dreams into reality and hoping I can inspire young women and men everywhere to do the same. The most brilliant diamonds take pressure, polish, and time. Reebok is back, and the diamonds are shining brighter than ever.”

Alongside the inspirational message, Reese also shared an exclusive first look at the pair being held by her, featuring a bright white pair of sneakers that promise on-court excellence, with a performance-based design, held up by the WNBA star.

“Major achievement here that less than a handful of women have done. Incredible. Congratulations,” one fan commented on the post, cementing how major of an achievement this is for the Sky star who debuted in the league in 2024.

The significance becomes clear when you look at the numbers. Alongside Reese, the only active WNBA stars who have achieved this feat are Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Caitlin Clark, and A’ja Wilson. This comes years after the first release by former WNBA star Sheryl Swoopes in 1995, which showcases the league’s growth.

How Does Angel Reese’s NBA 2K26 Cover Add to Her Historic Day?

In addition to launching her first signature shoe deal today, Angel Reese has also been making waves elsewhere. The two-time WNBA All-Star was named the cover athlete for the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition.

“Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone. It’s a statement,” the Chicago Sky star revealed in a press release that she explained the real purpose of the message.

“It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.”

Reese follows in the footsteps of many great players who have been featured on the cover of the 2K videogame, including Candace Parker, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Sabrina Ionescu, and A’ja Wilson, cementing herself alongside the greats of the ever-evolving sport.

“To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me and the growing impact of the league as a whole,” Reese shared in her statement.

While Reese is certainly not the first player to break these heights, she’s certainly the fastest. Ever since her league debut in 2024, the Chicago Sky star has not stopped cementing herself as a WNBA star, even once, as she continues to make waves in the sport.
