‘Angel Reese Is a Comedy Show’ — WNBA World Blasts Dream Star for Missing Game-Winning Layup vs. Caitlin Clark’s Fever

WNBA fans pile on Angel Reese after the Dream star misses a potential game-winner against Caitlin Clark and the Fever.

Angel Reese is one of the biggest names in the WNBA. Yet she remains a polarizing figure because of her on-court play.

Reese’s Atlanta Dream took on the Indiana Fever Sunday afternoon in a major national broadcast window. Unfortunately for Reese, she had a blunder that has fans talking.

WNBA World Reacts to Angel Reese Missing Potential Game-Winner vs. Fever

The score was tied at 81-81 when Reese rebounded a teammate’s missed shot under the basket in the final seconds. She proceeded to botch the layup, and the game went into overtime, where the Fever won 95-91.

The miss led to instant reactions from regular fans and big names alike.

“Angel Reese is a comedy show,” the outspoken Jason Whitlock said. His feed featured several other callouts of Reese for her performance against the Fever.

“Good lord, they have gone overboard trying to convince us Angel Reese is great,” Whitlock added. “Stop it.”

Another outspoken media personality, Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy, decided to have fun at Reese’s expense as well.

“ANGEL REESE AT THE BUZZER FOR THE WI……” Portnoy wrote, adding some skull and crossbones emojis for effect.

The Dream star is known for her exceptional rebounding, while her scoring abilities drive ridicule. Barstool Sports’ Rico Bosco also mocked her with a famous GIF of someone clanging shot after shot.

One fan decided to make an unfortunate comparison between Reese and a former NBA player widely considered to be a bust, Kwame Brown.

Reese is the WNBA rebound leader and hauled in 14 total rebounds in Sunday’s loss. She also scored 15 points, albeit on 5-for-16 shooting from the floor.

The former LSU star is often compared to Fever star Caitlin Clark following their college battles. A fan made it clear the comparison needs to stop for now.

“At least the Angel is better than Caitlin talk finally stopped this season,” the X user wrote.

Both players entered the league at the same time and were considered to be must-see stars. But in terms of scoring ability, Clark is visibly the better of the two, and it doesn’t appear to be close.

Plenty of fans are not surprised when they hear about a Reese blunder on the court.

“Least shocking thing I’ve read all year,” one wrote.

The missed shot paved the way for the Dream to lose the game and for Reese to get mocked on social media. How she responds will tell fans a lot about her on-court mettle.
