With the Buffalo Bills’ wide receivers struggling to find consistency, tight end Dalton Kincaid has emerged as one of the team’s most reliable offensive weapons. Through five games, he leads the Bills in receiving yards and is on pace for a career-best season, making his role vital to Buffalo’s Super Bowl aspirations.
However, just as his momentum builds, concern has surfaced among fans after Kincaid appeared on the team’s first injury report of the week. So, what’s the latest on his condition, and will he be ready to take the field in Week 6 against the Falcons? Let’s break it down.

Dalton Kincaid’s Injury: What We Know So Far
Kincaid, currently ranked third among tight ends in the league based on PFSN’s TE Impact metric, was first seen wearing a non-contact jersey during Thursday’s practice before appearing on the injury report with an oblique injury.
He was a limited participant in Friday’s practice, and on Saturday, the Bills officially announced that Kincaid is questionable for Week 6.

Buffalo’s schedule gives him an extra recovery day thanks to their Monday night game, providing additional time to regain full strength.
Through five games this season, Kincaid has 20 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns. By comparison, he totaled 448 yards in 2024 and 673 yards in 2023, putting him on pace for a career-best season.
However, if Kincaid were to miss the game, Dawson Knox would step in as the starting tight end, with rookie Jackson Hawes serving as the No. 2 option.
Fantasy Outlook For Kinciad
Here’s what PFSN’s Jason Katz wrote about Kincaid’s fantasy outlook for the Monday night game against the Falcons:
“Fresh off the best game of his career and having been a TE1 in three out of five games this season, it seems as if Dalton Kincaid is finally taking a step forward into an every-week starter. The underlying data tells a different story.
It’s undoubtedly a positive that Kincaid is being targeted on 22.2% of his routes run. However, he’s still commanded just a 16.1% target share. Most concerning, he’s only playing 47% of the snaps and running a route on 62.3% of Josh Allen’s dropbacks. Simply put, Kincaid’s production does not match his usage.
Things could get challenging against an Atlanta Falcons defense that allows the fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends. Now, it is worth noting they’ve faced Cade Otton, T.J. Hockenson, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Zach Ertz. These are not exactly top-tier opponents. But the production they’ve allowed has been close to zero.
This looks like a game where Allen will utilize Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman a bit more, while also scrambling himself. Unless Kincaid scores, it may be a disappointing day for the Bills’ TE.”
