The record for the most field goals in a single Super Bowl is five, set by Jason Myers (Seahawks, Super Bowl 60). Myers broke the previous record of four, shared by Don Chandler (Packers, Super Bowl 2), Ray Wersching (49ers, Super Bowl 16), Harrison Butker (Chiefs, Super Bowl 58) and Jake Elliott (Eagles, Super Bowl 59).
Between Wersching’s performance in January 1982 and Butker’s four-for-four night in February 2024, no kicker matched it for over four decades. Then it was tied in consecutive years before Myers shattered it in Super Bowl 60.
How Jason Myers Broke the Record in Super Bowl 60
Myers connected on all five of his field goal attempts in Seattle’s dominant performance against New England at Levi’s Stadium. He opened the scoring with a 33-yarder on the Seahawks’ first drive, then added makes from 39 and 41 yards in the second quarter to give Seattle a 9-0 halftime lead.

A 41-yard make in the third quarter pushed his total to four, tying the existing record. He broke it in the fourth quarter with a 26-yarder, becoming the first kicker in Super Bowl history to connect five times in a single game.
Every Kicker to Make Four or More Field Goals in a Super Bowl
Chandler connected from 43, 39, 31 and 20 yards in Green Bay’s 33-14 rout of the Oakland Raiders. Wersching joined him 14 years later with makes from 40, 26, 23 and 22 yards in San Francisco’s 26-21 win over Cincinnati in Super Bowl 16. Those two owned the record alone until Butker’s breakout in Las Vegas.
Butker’s four field goals in Super Bowl 58 were part of a record-setting night. He and San Francisco’s Jake Moody combined for seven total field goals, shattering the previous combined record of five. Butker connected from 57, 52, 29 and 25 yards, with that 57-yarder setting a new mark for the longest kick in Super Bowl history. Kansas City won 25-22 in overtime, with the two kickers accounting for 23 of the game’s 47 total points.
Elliott matched the record the following February in Super Bowl 59, going four-for-four against Kansas City. That performance tied him with Butker for the most career Super Bowl field goals at nine.
How Super Bowl 60 Set the Stage for Myers’ Record
Three of the last four Super Bowls have been decided by exactly three points. The Patriots won their first three championships by that same margin, with Adam Vinatieri’s clutch kicks defining an era. That history isn’t lost on Andy Borregales, the rookie who now handles kicking duties in New England.
“Seeing all the kicks that he made in [bad] weather and in Super Bowls inspired me,” Borregales said during Super Bowl week. “I think back to being in high school, and the dream was to be in this league and especially in this game.”

Borregales finished the regular season 27-for-32 on field goals with a long of 59 yards and a franchise-record 134 points by a rookie. He entered Super Bowl 60 having connected on four of six postseason attempts, with both misses coming from 40-plus yards in brutal weather in Denver. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel offered a measured endorsement: “It’s never going to be perfect. Every kick isn’t going to be made. But when we’ve needed Andy, I think he’s really settled in.”
On the Seattle side, Jason Myers brought a decade of NFL experience to his first Super Bowl and made the most of it. The Seahawks ranked third in special teams expected points added this season, and both kickers hit from 60 yards during pregame warmups at Levi’s Stadium. Myers accounted for 17 of Seattle’s points with his five field goals and two extra points, proving that a veteran leg can be just as valuable as any offensive weapon on the biggest stage.
Kickers had made 14 straight field goals dating back to Super Bowl 57 before Myers extended that streak to 19. The record that stood untouched for 42 years was matched twice in two seasons and then broken. Myers didn’t just join the list. He put himself at the top of it.
