The New York Giants will face off against the Washington Commanders in Week 15 as rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart continues to lead the team.
Despite their 2-11 record, the Giants have been a competitive team. Unfortunately, they lost their star wide receiver Malik Nabers earlier in the season. Here’s a look at how long he’ll be out and when he is expected to return.
Malik Nabers Injury Update
Nabers suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers on a notoriously harsh MetLife Stadium turf. The Giants wideout went down while attempting to haul in a deep ball along the right sideline, immediately clutching his right leg after landing. Scans later confirmed the ligament damage.
In late October, Nabers underwent surgery to repair the injury, with rehab beginning shortly after he was released. Notably, the procedure took place exactly one month after the injury, as doctors waited for the swelling to subside before operating.
While no torn ACL is ever ideal, the timing of Nabers’ injury provides a small silver lining. Suffering it early in the season gives him a clearer path toward returning on time. With a standard recovery window of about nine months, the expectation is that Nabers should be available for the start of training camp in 2026.
Before the injury, Nabers played in four games and caught 18 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, he caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, ranking 28th in PFSN’s WRi this season.
ACL injuries can be tough, but the fact that Nabers is young is better than if he were an older receiver. The 22-year-old is expected to make a full recovery and return in September 2026. However, there are bound to be doubts about whether an athlete will be the same caliber of player after an injury.
New York Giants’ Stats and Insights for Week 15
Team: The Giants have led in the fourth quarter in four of the games during their current seven-game losing streak. New York lost 10 straight games last year during a 3-14 season.
QB: Jaxson Dart had his worst PFSN Quarterback Impact score (67.0, D+) against the New England Patriots in Week 13. Dart had a QBi that ranked in the top ten in the league for the week in four of his eight starts.
Offense: In Week 1 against the Commanders, Russell Wilson was the Giants’ leading rusher with 44 yards on eight attempts.
Defense: New York has forced two takeaways during the seven-game losing streak, which is tied for the fewest in the NFL during that span.
Fantasy: The Jaxson Dart dynamic is a moving piece, but we did see Wan’Dale Robinson earn one-third of the targets in Week 13’s loss to the Patriots as he continues to establish himself as the WR1 in this offense moving forward.
