During the third quarter of the Miami Dolphins’ 27-21 Monday Night Football win over the New York Jets on September 29, wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a significant injury.
Medical staff immediately rushed over, and Hill was carted off the field. Shortly after, it was confirmed that he had dislocated his knee and sustained multiple ligament tears, including a torn ACL.
When Will Tyreek Hill Return?
Following the injury, Hill was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Oct. 1. He underwent surgery to repair the torn ACL and other ligament damage. In his first public comments following the surgery, he said, via ESPN:
“When I got tackled, I immediately tried to get up,” Hill said, “I’d seen that my leg was crooked. I immediately started laughing because I’ve been able to play this game for 10 years, really my entire life, and I’ve been blessed with great talents and great gifts.”
“The amount of support I get from my family, it’s amazing,” Hill added. “So, I really wasn’t even thinking about the injury. I was thinking about the great times I’ve had playing this game.”
Given the nature of his injury, dislocation combined with multiple ligament tears, including the ACL, a full recovery will likely span many months. However, he is expected to play next season, but is more likely to leave the Dolphins.

Given his contract with Miami runs through the 2026 season, Hill’s decision will also be influenced by how his rehab goes, how his knee responds, and whether the 31-year-old feels he can still play at his usual level.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins (3-7), who have the 20th-ranked offense in the league according to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, are preparing for their Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders.
Miami Dolphins’ Insights for Week 11
Team: This is the Dolphins’ seventh game in Europe. They’ve played Germany (2023) and the United Kingdom (2021, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2007). Miami has only one win in six European games.
QB: Tua Tagovailoa has thrown multiple interceptions in four of ten games. He has 13 total on the season, one shy of the most he’s thrown in a full season.
Offense: Miami’s 81.5 (B-) Offense Impact score (OFFi) was their highest of the season.
Defense: The Dolphins posted a DEFi that ranked in the Top 10 two of the last three weeks.
Fantasy: De’Von Achane has earned at least five targets in six straight games and has a 45+ yard carry in three of his past five games. There is no one like Christian McCaffrey, but if there is an East Coast CMC, he resides in South Beach.
