In Week 15 of the NFL season, the 6-7 Miami Dolphins will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
The Dolphins have struggled offensively this season, partly due to the injury suffered by superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill in Week 4 against the New York Jets. Here’s a look at how long he’ll be out and when he’s expected to return.
When Will Tyreek Hill Return?
In the Week 4 game against the Jets, Hill suffered a significant leg injury in the team’s 27-21 win over their division rival. The injury was gruesome to anyone watching, with Hill’s leg in an awkward position. Shortly after, it was confirmed that he had dislocated his knee and sustained multiple ligament tears, which included a torn ACL.
Hill was placed on the injured reserve, ending his season after only four games. The receiver had surgery, and Adam Schefter reported, “Tyreek Hill’s surgery is now complete and ‘went very well according to his doctors’, per the receiver’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who added another surgery will not be needed. ‘It’s about rehab, and he will play next season. The realistic goal is the start of the season.'”
While agent Drew Rosenhaus reiterated that Hill would be ready for the start of next season, Hill also said he was contemplating retirement.
On a podcast, he said, “At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based upon how I feel and where my mindset is at the moment. I’m happy with the career that I’ve had. I love playing football. I love it, but it takes a lot. It takes a lot on you mentally, it takes a lot on you physically.

“I’m at the point now where I need to have a conversation with mom, family, everybody. Wherever my mind is at the time, the decision will be made, but I know right now, I haven’t had time to live in the moment.”
By the time next season starts, Hill will be entering his age-32 season. This type of injury would be hard enough on a young player, let alone an older guy who is already on the decline.
In four games, Hill recorded 21 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown. In PFSN’s WRi, his best week came against the New England Patriots. He was graded with a C+ and an impact score of 79.9 after catching six passes for 109 yards.
If Hill comes back, there are rumors that it won’t be with the Dolphins. Yet, if he hangs them up, he’s had quite the career.
Miami Dolphins’ Stats and Insights for Week 15
Team: The Miami Dolphins have won two road games by at least 24 points. It’s the third time in Miami franchise history that the team has won multiple road games by at least 24 points in the same season (1975, 1992).
QB: Tua Tagovailoa has tied his career high with 14 interceptions, which is tied with Geno Smith for most in the NFL.
Offense: De’Von Achane is the 12th player in NFL history to score at least 11 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.
Defense: Miami has allowed 15.2 points per game in the last six games (5-1). During the 1-6 start, the Dolphins’ opponents were scoring 29.3 points per game.
Fantasy: After De’Von Achane left the game, it was not Ollie Gordon, but Jaylen Wright who took over the lead-back role. Wright out-snapped Gordon 34-16 and out-carried him 24-5. If Achane can’t go, Wright is the Dolphins RB you want.
