Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill marked the three-year anniversary of one of the most significant trades in recent NFL history with a simple, heartfelt message on social media.

Tyreek Hill Reflects on Journey, Future in Miami After Chiefs Trade
“Changed my life thank you,” Hill tweeted on Sunday, March 23, the three-year anniversary of when he was dealt to Miami.

On March 23, 2022, the Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in a blockbuster deal that sent five draft picks to the Chiefs, including a first-round selection. At the time, the trade sent shockwaves through the league and signaled Miami’s aggressive commitment to building around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
The picks were later traded again, turning into Trent McDuffie, Skyy Moore, and Joshua Williams, among others — players who went on to be fundamental pieces to the Chiefs’ winning two of the next three Super Bowls. Miami, on the other hand, has two playoff appearances and no postseason wins.
While the Dolphins have had a lack of postseason success since Hill’s arrival, the blame does not necessarily lie on him. His tenure in Miami has been marked by impressive performances, reinforcing his status as one of the league’s elite receivers.
In his first season with the team, Hill posted a career-high 1,710 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors. His second season in Miami was arguably even more impressive. He posted 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns (both league-best marks), again landing a spot on the first-team All-Pro list and solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most dynamic playmakers.
Last season did not go as well, however. Hill saw a nearly 50% decline in his production, amassing a mere 959 yards and six touchdowns over 81 receptions, despite playing in all 17 games.
Off the field, things have been a little rocky, too. After a Week 18 loss to the Jets, Hill made comments suggesting he was “opening the door” to leaving the team. That led to some buzz about a potential trade, but Dolphins general manager Chris Grier later clarified that Hill hadn’t formally asked to be moved.
The timing of Hill’s tweet seems to say a lot. As he enters the final stretch of his contract, following a season that saw declining production and trade rumors, the 30-year-old appears to be embracing the team that gave him a fresh start.
For Dolphins fans, that’s a good sign, especially considering what he’s still capable of when he’s locked in.
