Tutu Atwell was not super involved for much of the first few weeks for the Los Angeles Rams, but he has emerged as a credible big-play threat in the past two weeks. He is coming off his highest snap percentage of the season, at 66%, but he has popped up on the injury report, and his status for the week six game in Baltimore is in doubt.
Here’s the latest on the injury to the speedy Rams wide receiver.

Tutu Atwell Dealing With a Hamstring Injury
“Tutu Atwell (hamstring) questionable for Week 6,” according to Underdog NFL.
The former Louisville wide receiver popped up on the Thursday injury report with a hamstring injury, but practiced in a limited capacity. The severity of the injury is unclear, but the fact that he was able to practice in a limited fashion suggests he has a chance to play on Sunday.
Atwell is ranked as the No. 53 wide receiver in PFSN’s wide receiver impact rankings with a grade of 72.7 (C-). Through five games, Atwell has caught four of nine targets for 164 receiving yards and a touchdown, averaging 41 yards per reception.

After catching only one of three targets for four yards through the first three games, the fifth-year pro flashed as a significant play threat in weeks four and five, catching three passes for 30 or more yards each. An 88-yard touchdown reception against the Colts highlights this production.
The Rams are set to play a Baltimore Ravens squad that has been gashed by opposing offenses through the first five weeks of 2025. Baltimore is ranked as the No. 31 defense in the NFL by PFSN’s defense impact rankings with a 58.2 (F) score. Baltimore is allowing the second-most yards per game, the second-most passing yards per game, and the most points per game of any defense in the NFL.
If healthy, Atwell’s big-play ability could give Baltimore’s defense headaches as they try to defend Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams.
How Will the Rams Replace Atwell if He Can’t Play?
If Atwell can’t play, the Rams offense may not change much, but they will lose the player who can take the top off opposing defenses. Nacua leads the NFL in targets, receptions, and receiving yards, and figures to remain the focal point of the game plan for Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, regardless of Atwell’s presence.
Meanwhile, Adams has the sixth most targets in the NFL thus far and sees heavy usage in the red zone.
The Rams offense has been hyper-focused on their top two wide receivers and their top running back through the start of the season, and has been an effective strategy for the 3-2 squad.
Regarding snap share, the biggest beneficiary if Atwell cannot suit up would likely be Jordan Whittington, who had played ahead of Atwell for much of the season until week six. Atwell’s absence would likely signal that Whittington would receive the vast majority of snaps in three receiver sets.
Atwell’s status will be worth monitoring as game day approaches. The Rams hope to have him back on the field as they clash with the Ravens and look to gain ground on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West Division race.
