Three years as teammates with the Jacksonville Jaguars gave Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk plenty of time to build chemistry on and off the field.
Both players made an immediate impact, but injuries slowed their momentum in recent seasons, with Kirk missing significant time in both 2023 and 2024. His production dipped as a result, but their connection remains strong, highlighted by recent personal milestones and a continued bond that extends beyond football.
Trevor Lawrence, Christian Kirk Grew Close on Jaguars
Kirk’s numbers declined in each subsequent season with the Jaguars as he battled injuries. He missed the final five games of the 2023 season with a core muscle injury and was limited to just eight games in 2024 after suffering a broken collarbone.
Despite these setbacks, Kirk remained a reliable target when healthy. During his three seasons with the team, he recorded 2,274 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 168 receptions.
Lawrence, who also dealt with injuries last season, saw his own numbers dip as the offense adjusted to the absence of key players.
Following the 2024 season, which saw the emergence of rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., Kirk was traded to the Houston Texans for a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The move signaled a new chapter for both players, but their friendship has endured. That bond was evident recently when Lawrence’s wife, Marissa, congratulated Kirk and his wife, Ozzy, on the birth of their first child.

Kirk and his wife took to Instagram in a shared post to announce that they welcomed their first child into the world last month. The couple shared photos from the hospital, captioning the post:

Lawrence’s wife shared the post to her Instagram story, adding:
“Londyn girl is here 😭 I love you three so much 🤍”
Kirk and his wife announced their pregnancy in a shared Instagram post two days before last Christmas, stating:
“this Christmas is bringing us the best gift we could have ever received… a little Kirk on the way 🤍”

The couple began dating in September 2019 and were engaged three years later. They eventually tied the knot last April. Both Kirks hail from Arizona and had their wedding in Scottsdale, where Christian was raised and played his high school football.
Kirk spent his college years playing for the Texas A&M Aggies, but he returned home to begin his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals after they selected him 47th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. After four seasons with his hometown franchise, he signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Jaguars that included $37 million in guaranteed money.
He is set to re-enter free agency following the 2025 season. After battling injuries, he will look to rebuild his value in his first year with the Texans.
