Kelce Reaffirms Commitment to Chiefs, Dismisses Talk of Leaving
Kelce joined the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast this week on Tuesday and didn’t mince words about where he sees himself. When asked whether he could ever imagine suiting up for another team, Kelce was honest but firm.
“At this point, no. Maybe if you would’ve asked me that maybe like a contract or two ago I’d have been like you know I’d keep it open,” he said, referring to older contract cycles. “Kansas City is like the only place I got a home, I’ve just had that sense of community, I think I would have a tough time putting on another jersey.”
He didn’t just mean football, either. Kelce spoke about the deep community ties he’s developed, from city officials to restaurant staff, and the close-knit bond he shares with head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. “Coach Reid is like a second father. And Pat’s my f****g family now,” he said.
The Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end is well aware that football is a business, and he acknowledged the team will eventually have to make tough decisions to keep their future intact. But as of now, he’s made his stance crystal clear: walking away is one thing, but walking away to another team? Not likely.
What’s Next for Travis Kelce? Broadcasting, Acting, and Taylor Swift
Kelce isn’t waiting until retirement to branch out. With Happy Gilmore 2 on his résumé and growing interest in broadcasting, he’s already eyeing the next chapter. He admitted he’s long impersonated sportscasters and sees a future calling games or entertaining fans in other ways.
His “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce continues to thrive, drawing guests like Brad Pitt, but Kelce’s dream interview remains elusive. “I want to get Deion Sanders on so bad,” he said, adding that Prime’s two-sport legacy is something he’s always admired.
As for his highly publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, Kelce kept things grounded. He acknowledged the invasive media attention, even recounting run-ins with paparazzi while golfing, but insisted they’re just “enjoying life and having fun.”
Swift is expected to attend more Chiefs games this year, now that she’s off tour. Kelce, half-jokingly, noted that her presence might make him a little more camera-conscious. “I just don’t want my meat on Page Six,” he laughed.
