Special Arrangements in Place Donald Trump’s Arrival at Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz’s US Open Final
The news of Donald Trump’s expected attendance was first reported by The Athletic a couple of days ago. According to their reports, a White House official, who wished to guard his identity, relayed the news of Trump’s presence.
In accordance with the protocol, special arrangements have since been made for the president, including enhanced security. The US Open also issued a media advisory, alerting the press of potential delays due to increased screening.
“In addition to regular screening at the gates, there will be TSA-style security screening for all individuals as they enter Arthur Ashe Stadium. Every bag and piece of equipment that comes through security on Sunday will be scanned a thoroughly searched.
“You should expect some delays moving around in public areas that may briefly become restricted access or frozen zones at certain times during the match,” the excerpt read.
According to journalist Ben Rothenberg, who is on site to cover the US Open, broadcasters were also warned against showing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s presence. Trump is expected to attend the tournament as a guest of Rolex, one of US Open’s official sponsors.

What Did Carlos Alcaraz Say About Donald Trump’s US Open Appearance?
Ahead of his and Sinner’s final, Alcaraz revealed how he felt about President Trump’s decision to attend the showdown.
“I think that it is a privilege for the tournaments to have the presidents from every country just to support the tournament and to support tennis and to support the match. For me, playing in front of him, to be honest, I will try to be focused, and I will try not to think about it. I don’t want myself to be nervous because of it,” the Spaniard said in his press conference after the semifinal.
“I think his attending the tennis match is great for tennis, to have the president in the final,” he added.
Besides the unideal delay, the US Open final is also set to be played with the roof closed, courtesy of the weather conditions in New York.
