Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki’s Strong Bond Through the Years

The friendship between Williams and Wozniacki goes back a long way and has stayed strong through good times and tough times. Even though they were rivals on the tennis court, with Serena winning 10 out of 11 matches, they built a real friendship that lasted beyond the tennis court.

Their bond became even stronger when Williams stood by Wozniacki’s side as a bridesmaid at her wedding to Lee in Italy back in 2019. This showed that their friendship was not just for show but something real and meaningful.

Williams has always been there for Wozniacki during important moments in her life. When Wozniacki announced her second pregnancy in 2022, Williams was quick to show her love and support with comments like “Amazing. So happy” on her Instagram post. This pattern of support has continued as the Dane goes through her third pregnancy.

Caroline Wozniacki’s Journey as a Mother and Tennis Player

Wozniacki first stepped away from tennis in 2020 to start her family with Lee. The couple welcomed daughter Olivia in June 2021 and son James in October 2022. What makes her story even more amazing is that she came back to professional tennis in 2023 after being away for three years. She wanted to show her kids that you can chase your dreams no matter your age or what role you have in life.

Her comeback has been impressive. She reached the fourth round at both the 2023 and 2024 US Open tournaments and even made it to the quarterfinals at Indian Wells in 2024. She even represented Denmark at the Paris Olympics.

Now, at seven and a half months pregnant with her third child, Wozniacki has put her tennis career on pause again. She announced her pregnancy in April 2025 with a cute family photo in which Olivia held up ultrasound pictures. The Danish star joked about “officially switching to zone defense” since she and David will soon be outnumbered by their kids.
