Naomi Osaka Enjoys Disney World Trip with Daughter Shai

Osaka was recently in action at the Wimbledon Championships, where she broke new ground by reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in her career. Her campaign ended in a loss to eventual runner-up Karolína Muchová, who claimed a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory in their blockbuster clash to reach the semifinals.

Ahead of the North American hard-court swing, Osaka enjoyed some quality time with her daughter, Shai, during a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando. The former world No. 1 documented their memorable outing, featuring exciting rides, the Frozen Sing-Along show, giraffe sightings, and more.

Osaka had also brought Shai along to London for her Wimbledon campaign. During a press conference at the grass-court Major, she acknowledged her “privileged” position, pointing out that she could bring someone along to help care for the three-year-old instead of relying on the tournament’s on-site daycare.

“I mean, as a mom on tour, I could say that, like, my situation is really privileged because I’m able to bring someone from home on the road with me. I don’t have to worry too much. Obviously I do still worry. When I’m not with her, I try to race immediately back home so I can be with her and all the things. It’s not like I have to bring her on the site to on-site daycare or anything like that. In that way I’d say I’m very privileged,” she said.

The four-time Grand Slam champion also expressed admiration for her fellow mothers on tour, saying, “I see all the moms on tour doing amazing. For me, that means a lot and it makes me really happy. That’s one of the things I connected with Taylor Townsend a lot on. Yeah, maybe we should all start like a mom group chat or something.”
