Novak Djokovic’s Wife Hails Serb After Stunning Win

Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, was left emotional after his semifinal win over Sinner. She shared a post on X with the holding-back-tears emoji as she celebrated his triumph.

The Serb came from behind twice to defeat Sinner. He lost the first set 6-3, but roared back to win the second. Sinner then restored his advantage by taking the third set 6-4, only for Djokovic to win the fourth set 6-4.

The veteran then outlasted his opponent in the fifth and deciding set, winning 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a match that concluded shortly after 1:30 am local time.

What Djokovic Said After Australian Open Semifinal Win

Djokovic went into his match against Sinner as the underdog, especially after getting lucky while being two sets down in his quarterfinal when Lorenzo Musetti had to withdraw due to injury. But he managed to overcome the odds and delivered a resolute defensive performance to get the better of the in-form Sinner.

This incredible win helped Djokovic end a five-match winless run against the Italian. It was also Sinner’s first defeat at the Australian Open since 2023 and ended his title defense.
After more than four hours of grueling tennis, Djokovic thanked the crowd and said reaching the final felt surreal.

“I’m lost for words right now. It feels surreal, to be honest. Playing over four hours, almost 2 am. The level of intensity and the quality of tennis was extremely high. I knew that was the only way for me to have a chance to win tonight,” Djokovic said during his post-match on-court interview.
