Mirra Andreeva kept her word by coaching her coach, Conchita Martínez, during the Legends event at the Wimbledon Championships.

Mirra Andreeva kept her word by coaching and cheering for her coach, Conchita Martínez, during the Legends event at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Andreeva turned professional in 2022, and Martínez joined her team as her coach in April 2024.

In the Legends match, Martínez partnered with Greg Rusedski, but they were defeated 7-6(5), 6-3 by Katie O’Brien and Thomas Johansson.

Mirra Andreeva Gets ‘Revenge’ Against Coach Conchita Martínez at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships

Seeded seventh at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Andreeva began her tournament run by defeating Mayar Sherif in the first round, followed by wins over Lucia Bronzetti 6-1, 7-6(4), and Hailey Baptiste 6-1, 6-3 in the second and third rounds, respectively.

The former World No. 6 secured her place in the quarterfinals by defeating 10th seed Emma Navarro 6-2, 6-3. After the match, during the on-court interview, Andreeva revealed that she planned to get her “revenge” on Martínez by coaching her during the Legends match at Wimbledon.

The 18-year-old also mentioned that she would bring a large poster and cheer for her coach.

“Yes. I’m gonna get my revenge finally…So, I’m already thinking about a poster that I will make, and I hope that some people will help me do this. I will come to the court with a huge poster, and I’m going to support and obviously coach because I think that’s my time to get back at her,” Andreeva said.

Andreeva kept her promise and attended Martínez’s Legends match. The Russian wore an all-white ensemble and a Wimbledon-themed Panama hat adorned with tennis racquet-shaped pins, balls, and strawberry embellishments.

Martínez won one Grand Slam title during her career, the 1994 Wimbledon Championships. Seeded third in the tournament, she defeated players such as Rene Simpson, Nana Smith, Nathalie Tauziat, Kristine Kunce, Lindsay Davenport, and Lori McNeil to advance to the final.

In the championship match, Martínez defeated Martina Navratilova 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to claim the 1994 Wimbledon Championships singles title.

Mirra Andreeva To Face Belinda Bencic at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships QF

Following her victory over Navarro in the fourth round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Andreeva is set to face Belinda Bencic in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Bencic began her campaign at the London Major with a dominant performance, defeating Alycia Parks in straight sets 6-3, 6-0. The Swiss then got past qualifier Elsa Jacquemot 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, and then battled past Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(7) in the second and third rounds, respectively.

She secured her spot in the quarterfinals against Andreeva after registering a 7-6(4), 6-4 win over 18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.

This upcoming quarterfinal match at the grass-court Grand Slam marks the first encounter between Andreeva and Bencic on the WTA Tour. The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals, where they will face either eighth seed Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek or 19th seed Liudmila Samsonova.
