Madison Keys Shares Her Thoughts on the Location of the WTA Finals Photoshoot

Keys made her second appearance at the WTA Finals, her first being in 2016 at Kallang, Singapore. She began her 2025 WTA Finals after her US Open tournament journey and faced defeat at the hands of Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek and Amanda Anisimova in her group stage matches.

During her recent appearance on “The Player’s Box Podcast,” the Rock Island, Illinois, native shared her views on the WTA Finals photoshoot and how the location had to be selected in accordance with their dress code. She also revealed that they faced similar issues of location and dress code during last year’s photoshoot as well.

She added, “I heard that they were trying to find a closed location, obviously, because some of the dresses… it was like the shoulders were showing or like there was a cutout or something. And I heard that they were kind of running into an issue last year where if shoulders were out or there was a cutout and you guys took your pictures in a more public place, it was like you kind of had to be shielded away a little.”

While highlighting the location’s selection, she continued, “So, I don’t think they wanted to run into that issue again this year. So, they tried to find a more closed location where we weren’t out in the public. I saw a lot of the comments from people where they were like, obviously, there’s so many places you could have gone and whatever, but dress code wise, I don’t think all of us would have been okay.”
