The World No. 7 exited the tournament without a single win.
The Tennis World Reacts to Madison Keys’ Season-Ending Message
The Grand Slam champion, Madison Keys, returned to the 2025 WTA Finals for the second time in her career. Her last appearance was during her 2016 season; the WTA Finals were held in Kallang, Singapore, and she concluded her trophy run with group stage losses.
Returning to her present season, Madison Keys achieved her first major win by clinching the Australian Open women’s singles title after surpassing World No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka. Apart from this feat, she defeated World No. 5 Jessica Pegula and won the Adelaide International.
Through her message, Keys reflected on her disappointing end to the WTA Finals and expressed her appreciation for her team’s support and effort. The American star also highlighted that she had achieved her primary goal for the season, which was to qualify for the prestigious championship.
She added, “Not how I wanted the story to end but at the beginning of the year I had the goal of making year end finals again and for that I’m so proud of all of the work my team and I put in to make that goal happen. Thank you for all the support 🫶🏽”
