Iga Świątek Defeats Amanda Anisimova to Win Her Maiden Wimbledon Title

In the championship match of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Świątek delivered a stunning performance, defeating Anisimova with a score of 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes, her first title on the grass-court Grand Slam. With this win, the Pole also recorded winning Major titles on all three surfaces: hard, clay, and grass. This was her first trophy since claiming her fourth French Open title in 2024, bringing her Grand Slam final record to 6-0.

Świątek’s commanding victory over Anisimova, which earned her the coveted Venus Rosewater Dish, delighted tennis fans. They took to social media to express their elation and admiration for the former World No. 1’s performance.

One fan remarked that Świątek “destroyed” Anisimova without breaking a sweat on the way to claim the Wimbledon title.

“6-0 6-0. Just an under an hour. Iga just destroyed Anisimova. I hope that doesn’t destroy the latter’s spirit, but for Iga WHAT A WIN, DIDN’T HAVE TO BREAK A SWEAT. 57 mins. Astonishing,” a fan posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Another fan described her win as the most “dominant” in the knockout stage of a tennis match.

“MOST DOMINANT PERFORMANCE IN THE KNOCK OUT OF AN TENNIS TOURNAMENT,” a fan wrote.

One fan characterized her performance as “ruthless.”

“RUTHLESS SWIATEK 🤯🤯🤯,” a fan posted.

“IGAAAA CONQUERED THE GRASS FINALLY LETS GOOOOOO,” a fan wrote.

Another fan noted that the Pole’s victory in the final was one for the history books.

“The match for the history books. What a brutal performance from Iga! Amanda, however, was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t cope with her nerves. No matter what, Anisimova should be proud of herself,” the fan said.

“What a performance! 6-0,6-0 and this is her worst surface!” a fan wrote.

“Pure domination. Swiatek didn’t give Anisimova a single breath today. 🫢,” a fan posted.

On her path to the final of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, 13th-seeded Anisimova defeated Yulia Putintseva, Renata Zarazúa, Dalma Gálfi, and 30th-seeded Linda Nosková in the first four rounds.

In the quarterfinals, the American overcame Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and then secured her place in the championship match against Świątek by overcoming top seed Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals.
