Professional athletes often have to undergo random doping tests, and Frances Tiafoe recently experienced this firsthand. He was asked to take a random doping test early in the morning, which visibly annoyed his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield.

Tiafoe and Broomfield have been together for over a decade, having started dating in 2015. Broomfield is a social media fashion influencer and a former professional tennis player whose playing career was cut short due to a shoulder injury.
Broomfield began her collegiate tennis career at Clemson University in South Carolina before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She made her WTA Tour debut at the 2014 Coupe Banque Nationale, where she competed in doubles alongside Maria Patrascu.
Recently, Broomfield was in Las Vegas for the Grand Prix. After returning from her trip and attempting to get a proper night’s rest, she found herself awake due to Tiafoe’s random doping test. In a video she posted on social media, Broomfield expressed her visible annoyance at being woken up so early.
“Pov you just got back from Vegas and trying to get a proper night’s rest and of courseeeee doping comes bright and early omg,” Broomfield captioned her Instagram story.

The social media influencer also shared a picture of her reunion with Tiafoe after returning from Las Vegas and offered a heartwarming update, revealing that the former World No. 10 has her picture as his “screensaver.”

On the tennis side of things, Tiafoe’s last competition of the 2025 season was the Shanghai Masters. He was seeded 25th at the tournament and began his campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. He faced qualifier Yannick Hanfmann in his opening match and lost with a scoreline of 7-6(9), 2-6, 1-6.
The former World No. 10’s best result this season came at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, where he finished as the runner-up after losing to compatriot Jenson Brooksby in the final. He also reached the quarterfinals at the Citi DC Open before being eliminated by Ben Shelton.
In Grand Slam tournaments, Tiafoe achieved his best result at the French Open, making it to the quarterfinals before being defeated by Lorenzo Musetti. He reached the third round at the US Open and was eliminated in the second round at the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships.
