Italian talent Flavio Cobolli has recently reflected on the special experience that he gained during his training session with current World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz. The 23-year-old, who played an impressive role with Team Italy to clinch the 2025 Davis Cup title, also revealed that he received advice from the elite ATP player and that he implicitly understands a lot of this as well.

Flavio Cobolli Reflects on Learning From Carlos Alcaraz

While preparing for his upcoming season, Cobolli was seen participating in a training session with top-notch talent from the ATP in Murcia, Spain. During their session, Alcaraz was also seen enjoying a piggyback ride from Cobolli, who positively expressed his exceptional experience of training with the winner of 24 singles titles, including 6 Major titles.

The Florence, Italy, native described the intense and engaging feeling he experienced when training with Alcaraz and how time flew when sharing a high-level session with someone of such calibre.

He added, highlighting how he is learning from Alcaraz both implicitly and explicitly, “The two hours training with Alcaraz feel like twenty minutes, but when you do them with another player, they feel like two hours. Obviously, he is giving me a lot of advice, and even if he doesn’t say them, I am learning things.” (as per Ubitennis via Punto de Break)

Cobolli concluded his season on a high note, clinching two titles: the Bitpanda Hamburg Open and the Tiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank. These were the first two titles of his career, and he later added another major feat when he captured the Davis Cup tournament with Team Italy after defeating Team Spain in the finals.

Cobolli Reveals His Improvement Areas Ahead of His 2026 Season

Cobolli, who had a 2025 season record of 34 wins and 27 losses, acknowledged his strong areas while reflecting on the areas he needs to improve ahead of the 2026 season.

While sharing his views on the excellence of Jannik Sinner, he added, “What do I need to improve in 2026? My team believes everything. I consider myself very strong in some areas, but I know I have a lot of room for improvement and many aspects to work on. In life, you also have to be a bit realistic. You try, I work every day to reach where he is, but I recognize that he is very far ahead of me right now.”

He will be seen in action at the 2025 United Cup tournament, along with Andrea Pellegrino, Andrea Vavassori, Jasmine Paolini, Nuria Brancaccio, and Sara Errani.
