Emma Raducanu Clears the Air of Fake Relationship Story Considering Her Best Friend’s Brother
The winner of the 2021 US Open in women’s singles has recently shared her thoughts while describing how she found a picture of herself in a media article, due to which she was disturbed. The WTA star revealed that when she was in London, she planned to attend a rugby match with her best friend and their brother.
One of the shutterbugs took her picture, and later it was edited to show only her and her best friend’s brother, leaving her best friend out, to construct a fake relationship story, which subsequently irritated the notable player. During her recent interview with The Telegraph, the Toronto, Ontario, native reflected on the incident, revealing the real story and how it had been twisted by one of the media outlets in London.
She revealed while highlighting her light reprimand, “What did creep me out was I saw a photo of myself in London, and I didn’t see the paps [paparazzi photographers]. I was with my two best friends. This happened last week, and it was like some tabloid article saying I had a new boyfriend or whatever. But it’s literally my best friend’s brother. I was like, ‘Come on guys. Be better.’”
Furthermore, Raducanu added that they all were going to a Rugby match, and highlighted how this stressed her out while also taking this in a light-hearted way, “We were going to the rugby, and of course, they cropped my best friend out [so that] it was just me and this guy, and I just didn’t see the paps. So that’s obviously creepy. How did they take this photo? But other than that, I feel good because someone’s always watching my back.”
Apart from her sport, Raducanu has also shown an interest in Rugby, as she had earlier visited England’s national rugby union team at their Bagshot training centre before their match against the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks.
While sharing the field with Rugby elites, Raducanu shared her valuable career lessons with the team, received praise from the players and their coach, Steve Borthwick, and also comically showcased her catching skills by being assisted by two players.
