American tennis star Danielle Collins recently opened up about what unfolded after former US pros John Isner, Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson, and Jack Sock jokingly took it upon themselves to find her a husband online. Shortly after her split from ex-boyfriend Bryan Kipp, Collins announced that she was searching for a partner, prompting the quartet to step in as matchmakers.

Collins had earlier confirmed that the 2025 US Open would be her final tournament of the season, and she stepped away after a first-round exit. What followed, however, was an unexpected off-court chapter, as she announced her split from longtime boyfriend Bryan Kipp, whom she had first met at a coffee shop in London.
Collins opened up about the breakup last month on the Gay Tennis Podcast, revealing that she was single and in good spirits. Rather than dwelling on the split, she quipped that she was excited to explore new options.
What began as a casual update soon exploded online and reached Querrey, Isner, Sock, and Johnson, who announced on their Nothing Major podcast that they were actively seeking a partner for Collins through an online application. Collins, in turn, was left in stitches when she stumbled upon the idea.
Recently, the American appeared on the latest episode of their podcast and shared her thoughts on the matchmaking drive. Collins said the online form amused her, comparing it to old-fashioned newspaper personal ads. She revealed she received a flood of DMs and applications, found it hilarious, and never imagined the former players would be trying to find her husband.
“Oh I thought it was so funny. Part of this whole thing is felt like, I am living the 70s or 80s when women used to put out ads in the newspaper when they were looking for a husband. It kind of felt like that in some way. Because I’ve been getting a ton of DMs and like applications from people and I’m like okay, I didn’t expect it to, I guess I did but, it’s been pretty hilarious and funny,” she said.
“I would have never thought you guys were going to be the guys to try to help me find a husband, let’s just say. I think you guys are pretty cool, but I would have never envisioned this,” she added.

As the conversation continued, Collins revealed that she set most messages aside, though a few serious ones stood out.
“Most of them I kind of have to put off to the side. But there’s been a few that I’ve responded to just for fun. But yeah, I’d be lying if I’d say nothing too serious has come about this. But like, yeah, it’s like a needle in a haystack a little bit. So that’s the only thing. It’s like such an influx coming in that it’s kind of hard to go through all of it and figure out who is a normal person and who is not. There’s a lot of strange men out there. Let’s just say,” she said.
While she responded to a few messages, finding a suitable match proved like searching for a “needle in a haystack.” Whether she ultimately succeeds remains to be seen.
