The top-ranked American Coco Gauff is showing impressive form at the 2026 Miami Open, which is also in her home state. Since the age of seven, the two-time Grand Slam champion has been a resident of Delray Beach, a location her parents moved to for better tennis opportunities.
During an interview with Tennis Channel, Gauff talked about how she enjoys playing at Hard Rock Stadium, while expressing her desire to spend her “credential money” on the $100 hot dog.
Coco Gauff’s Plans for a $100 Hot Dog After the Miami Open
Gauff is experiencing the best run at the venue in her career, having reached the semifinals of the Miami Open. She defeated Swiss star Belinda Bencic in three sets in the quarterfinals to set up a high-octane clash with the 2026 Qatar Open champion, KarolÃna Muchová.
However, right after her win over Bencic, Gauff sat down with Tennis Channel for an exclusive interview, discussing her matches and off-court activities. She talked about how much she enjoys playing during the night sessions at Hard Rock Stadium, saying:
“It feels great to play at the Miami night session. And yeah, I think that this is a great event I’ve seen outside of the grounds online, and it looks super nice. Everybody, all my family has good feedback.”
The World No. 4 then expressed a desire to explore the arena’s fun activities, but given her top-star status, she won’t be able to enjoy them without attracting the attention of hundreds of fans. So she came up with an idea:

“So yeah, I definitely think maybe I can come up with a disguise or something because there’s a few things I want to try on the grounds after the tournament is over, but I don’t know how that’s going to work.”
The hosts began listing all the exciting things the tournament has to offer, especially the $100 hot dog, which made headlines before the event kicked off. The “Golden Dizzy” is a special type of hot dog made by sandwich shop Chèvre, consisting of Australian Wagyu sausage covered with crème fraîche, an entire tin of Golden Goat caviar, and sprinkles of 24-karat gold flakes.
When the hosts mentioned this hot dog, Gauff immediately joked that it was the first thing she wanted to try, adding, “But I’m using my credential money.”
The hosts immediately called her a smart woman, praising her for spending the tournament credential money, which is a daily meal credit. The credential also gives players access to the locker rooms, player lounge, dining room, gym, and salon.
Coco Gauff Replicates Her Best Run of the 2026 Season in Miami
Gauff had a shaky start to the season, with mixed results at multiple tournaments. She started the year strong, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2026 Australian Open, but suffered a crushing 1-6, 2-6 defeat against Elina Svitolina.
She then exited the Qatar Open in the second round, losing 4-6, 2-6 to Italian lucky loser Elisabetta Cocciaretto. In Dubai, she delivered the best run of her season, reaching the semifinals, only to lose 4-6, 7-6 (13), 4-6 again to Svitolina.
In Indian Wells, she had to retire from her third-round match against Filipino sensation Alexandra Eala. This abruptly ended her campaign at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, halting her momentum. However, she quickly returned to her championship form, reaching the semifinals in Miami.

She defeated Cocciaretto, American Alycia Parks, and Sorana Cîrstea to reach the final eight of the event. She then faced World No. 12 Bencic in the quarterfinals and secured a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win.
Now, she faces Muchová in the semifinals. PFSN’s exclusive interactive simulator predicts almost equal chances for both stars to advance to the final, with Gauff holding a slight edge.
