Carlos Alcaraz recently shared his excitement about a custom-built Sunreef Ultima 88 catamaran, offering fans a glimpse into how he plans to unwind away from the sport. Speaking in an interview, Alcaraz made it clear that the yacht is not just a luxury purchase but a personal escape. He also added a playful note by revealing that Tommy Paul is already eyeing an invitation, one that could come with a friendly condition attached.
Inside Carlos Alcaraz’s New Luxury Yacht
The Spaniard’s entry into yacht ownership has been months in the making. Announced in late March 2026 at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, his decision to commission the Sunreef Ultima 88 reflects a personal shift toward prioritizing recovery and mental reset.
By joining the exclusive “House of Sunreef,” he now shares company with global sports figures like Rafael Nadal, Fernando Alonso, and Robert Lewandowski. The 88-foot vessel, currently under construction in Gdansk, Poland, is expected to be delivered in 2027 and valued at around €9 million, making it both a luxury investment and a personal retreat.
The Playful Condition for Tommy Paul’s Yacht Invitation
Speaking after his second-round win over Sebastian Baez at the Monte Carlo Masters, Alcaraz clarified that the boat seen in recent promotional visuals was not yet his.
“I mean, actually it wasn’t mine. We took that boat for the shooting, but it wasn’t mine,” he said. “They’re going to build it, so it’s going to take one year and a half. So I’m super excited about it.”

For Alcaraz, the appeal goes far beyond aesthetics. “I’m a huge fan. You know, I would say when you’re on a boat, when you’re in the sea, everything is chill. It’s, let’s say, my thing to disconnect from everything,” he added.
The conversation turned playful when he referenced Paul’s interest in joining him on board. “I saw Tommy Paul saying he wants to get on. I’ll invite him. I better invite him, so I will for sure,” Alcaraz said.
He added a humorous twist to the invitation: “But I’ll tell him, like, you’ve got to take me out for fishing as well. So I think, like, half and half. I’m going to make a deal with him, but it’s going to be great for sure.”
The remarks came during his post-match appearance on Tennis Channel following his straight-sets victory in Monte Carlo, where he is competing as the top seed and the defending champion in the ATP Masters 1000 event. Looking ahead, Alcaraz is set to face Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the third round for the first time on the ATP Tour. The winner of this match will face either the 11th seed Jiří Lehečka or the eighth seed Alexander Bublik in the quarterfinals.
