Swifties Predict Jahdae Barron ‘Is Not Going To Like the Ending’ After Broncos DB’s Taylor Swift–Travis Kelce Jab

Jahdae Barron’s post about Travis Kelce ignites a wave of Swiftie reactions as fans debate his jab and the numbers behind it.

The moment came and went on the field, but the ripple effect arrived days later. A Denver Broncos defender, a viral Instagram Story, and a pointed request aimed at Taylor Swift set off an online debate that grew louder than the game itself. The reactions suggest this story is far from over.

Swifties React Strongly to Barron’s Viral Post

The tension began when Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron posted a snapshot from the Broncos’ 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 16. The image, shared on Nov. 20, showed Barron leaping to defend Travis Kelce, who appeared to be losing his footing.

In screenshots highlighted by SI’s Zack Kelberman, Barron wrote, “Tell Swift put me on a song… RIGHT NOW.”

Swifties and NFL fans immediately dissected the jab. Many pointed out that despite the loss, Kelce delivered nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, while also breaking the Chiefs’ all-time touchdown record with 84.

On New Heights, Kelce admitted that the achievement didn’t carry its usual weight, saying, “Obviously, right now it’s soured because it’s coming off a f***ing loss. Our fifth loss of the season.”

Online, Swifties responded with a mix of humor and irritation. X user @Breanna77307215 compared the moment to a familiar Taylor Swift storyline, writing, “I think I’ve seen this film before, and he’s not going to like the ending.”

User @DustyLikins focused on Kelce’s production, noting his stat line and jokingly asking what the song title would be, suggesting “Cooked” or “Sourdough.”

Another user, @Akskygal, questioned whether Barron had forgotten “the CJ Gardner Johnson episode” before telling him to enjoy the regular-season victory.

Some mocked the Broncos’ sudden confidence, including @InTheoryChaotic, who remarked that they had been irrelevant for years and were only now acting bold because they were performing better.

User @JT4630 emphasized that Kelce “smoked you guys” with a 9-91-1 stat line and highlighted that he did so at age 36.

Meanwhile, @whoistayvis criticized Barron for posting the jab on Instagram instead of saying it directly to Kelce, calling it a weak move.

Another user, @MeganLanier11, added that their division rivals were “full of babies” despite being “grown men.”

PFSN’s Offense Impact metric adds further context to the online arguments. The Chiefs hold an offensive impact score of 86.0, ranking fourth, while the Broncos sit at 74.9, ranked 15th.

Through ten games, the Chiefs are 5-5, whereas the Broncos stand at 9-2 through eleven games. The Chiefs average 25.4 points per game, compared to the Broncos’ 23.4. The former generate 2.70 points per drive, more than the Broncos’ 2.01, and gain more yards per play at 5.70 versus the Broncos’ 5.30.

Both teams have 18 passing touchdowns, but the Broncos have twice as many turnovers with 12 compared to the Chiefs’ six. The latter also have a slight edge in rushing touchdowns, leading 12 to 11.

The numbers highlight why many fans felt Barron’s jab was premature. Although the Broncos hold the better record, the Chiefs remain the more efficient offense, and Kelce’s individual performance has not faltered.

The Chiefs will face the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 23, but the conversation sparked by Barron’s post shows no signs of fading.

Whether this remains a fleeting viral spark or develops into a deeper rivalry may depend on what happens next on the field and on social media.
