11-year NFL veteran receiver Stefon Diggs is playing in the first Super Bowl of his career on Sunday as a member of the New England Patriots, who will be battling the Seattle Seahawks for a place in football immortality.
Diggs, who is a former All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler, can leave his mark on the game in a myriad of ways. Not among them, though, is getting into a brawl on the opposing team’s sideline. Not only would that be detrimental for the Patriots, but he’d be drastically outnumbered.
Stefon Diggs Surrounded By Seahawks in Sideline Scuffle
In what has been a defensive showcase to this point, the Patriots have failed to score a single point in the first half.
Naturally, that may lead to some frustration among their offensive playmakers, who have grown accustomed to creating game-changing plays throughout the season. That hasn’t been the case on Sunday for the Patriots’ offense, including Diggs.
The 32-year-old has been a non-factor, and his lone reception occurred on 3rd-and-17, where he managed to maneuver upfield for five yards before running out of bounds and into the Seattle bench.

Some words were exchanged, the space between players decreased, and it appeared like Diggs was on the verge of taking on a cluster of Seahawks players all on his own.
Better judgment prevailed and Diggs, with the aid of an official who was escorting him in the opposite direction, ventured back toward his own sideline unscathed.
Diggs Has Been Quiet Throughout the Patriots’ Playoff Run
The Patriots, who landed the No. 2 seed in the conference, won three consecutive postseason games in order to advance to Super Bowl 60. They beat the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and top-seeded Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game to represent the conference in the big game.
In all three games, Diggs combined for 11 receptions for 73 yards, serving as a far cry from how productive he was in the regular season. In his defense, he was going up against three of the top eight defenses by the PFSN NFL Defense Impact metric, including each of the top two.
Per the PFSN NFL WR Impact Metric, Diggs was the 4th-ranked WR this season. He was a difference-maker this season, but it just hasn’t happened in the playoffs. Still, when the lights are brightest, a massive performance from Diggs can happen at any time.
