‘We Are a F***ing Joke of a Franchise’ – Steelers Fans Slam Team After Jaguars’ Trade for Jakobi Meyers

Steelers fans are livid after Jacksonville traded for Jakobi Meyers, criticizing Pittsburgh’s front office for not making a move for the veteran WR.

One of the top names circulating ahead of the November 4 NFL trade deadline was Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. Several teams showed interest, and the Jacksonville Jaguars ultimately acquired him, sending a fourth- and sixth-round pick to secure the veteran wideout.

While Jaguars fans are undoubtedly excited about the move, Pittsburgh Steelers fans were not, taking to the internet to criticize their team’s front office for not landing Meyers.

What Did Steelers Fans Say About The Jaguars Trading For Jakboi Meyers?

The Steelers are in desperate need of an upgrade at wide receiver. Outside of DK Metcalf, no other wideout on the roster ranks in the top 40 at the position this season, according to PFSN’s WRi metric, and Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled as a result.

When rumors surfaced that the Raiders were looking to move Meyers ahead of the deadline, Steelers fans hoped their team would make a move to acquire him. However, that didn’t end up happening, as the Jaguars beat them to it.

Steelers insider Alan Saunders broke the news that the Jaguars had traded for Meyers, and it’s safe to say Pittsburgh fans were not happy about it.

One fan reacted bluntly to missing out on Meyers, writing, “We are a f***ing joke of a franchise. Other Steelers fans pointed out that the Jaguars’ offer for Meyers was something the Steelers could have easily matched, with one writing, “A 4th and 6th round pick for Jakobi Meyers would have been an easy yes in my book for the Steelers.”

While another added, “Steelers couldn’t f***ing match or offer a touch more than the jags for meyers??”

One fan simply called not acquiring Meyers a miss, writing, “Huge miss from Tomlin and co.”

Other Steelers fans’ hopes of any deadline moves were dashed by missing out on Meyers. One fan said, “I have a big feeling the Steelers will do absolutely nothing at the deadline especially with Meyers off the board they might just give up.”

Another added, “Steelers will be linked to everyone and get no one.” One fan wasn’t surprised the Steelers didn’t acquire Meyers and went as far as to say the team is content with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, writing, “No suprise there guess they will be happy with MVS lol.”

It’s understandable why Steelers fans are so upset about the Jaguars trading for Meyers instead of them. Pittsburgh’s biggest need ahead of the deadline is wide receiver, and the organization potentially missed out on the best one available.

On top of that, Pittsburgh fans are right that the Steelers could have at least matched the Jaguars’ offer to the Raiders for Meyers, if not offered something better.

The good news for Steelers fans is there’s still time to make moves before today’s 4:00 p.m. ET deadline, and maybe the front office has a bigger deal brewing behind the scenes. Still, it undoubtedly stings to miss out on Meyers.
