Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table by a healthy six points, keen to end their 22-year wait for a top-flight title. They have reportedly added a former Liverpool staff member to their coaching team to boost their chances of success in May.
Arsenal Hire Ex-Liverpool Coach To Improve Long Throws
According to The Times, Mikel Arteta’s side has hired Thomas Gronnemark, a former Liverpool throw-in coach who has also previously worked at Brentford. The Gunners’ coaching staff is working with Gronnemark temporarily, as the Dane serves as a consultant for the club.
Gronnemark, 50, worked under former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp between 2018 and 2023. He helped the Anfield outfit lift seven trophies, including the league title in 2020.
During a recent chat with RG, Gronnemark shed light on how Klopp had approached him.
“Even though Liverpool had a great 2017-18 season, finishing fourth and losing to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final, they were really bad at the throw-ins. That’s why he invited me to Melwood and it should only have been a meeting,” Gronnemark said.
The throw-in coach added, “But he was already so convinced after that meeting that I had the chance to coach 21 Premier League players the day after. I signed a six-month contract the following week. It meant so much for me to get that international breakthrough and be able to help one of the top teams in the world.”
Arsenal, who have scored 15 times from corners and free kicks this season, are likely to improve their possession retention and goal-scoring chances with Gronnemark’s arrival.

According to Sky Sports, Bradley will miss the remainder of the current season due to a serious knee injury. The 22-year-old right-back is set to undergo surgery in the coming days to repair bone and ligament damage and has no expected return date as of now.
So far this season, Bradley has made 21 appearances across competitions for the Reds. He has provided two assists in 13 overall starts for his club, according to Transfermarkt.
In the Northern Irishman’s absence, Arne Slot’s side are likely to depend on summer arrival Jeremie Frimpong at right-back. They could also play Joe Gomez in the relevant role.
