‘Saying Crazy Things’ — Shilo Sanders Calls Out Browns Insider for Pushing ‘Hateful’ Agenda Against Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders' brother was unhappy with reports that came out of the Browns' minicamp, and he criticized insider Mary Kay Cabot.

The Cleveland Browns wrapped up the voluntary offseason program, and the battle between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson is on. The second-year quarterback finished the season as the starter, but Watson’s return after injury could give him the starting job back in 2026.

Shilo Sanders Criticizes Mary Kay Kabot for Negative Reporting on Shedeur

In 2025, Shedeur was likely the most polarizing player in football. He fell to the 5th round of the draft, and when the Browns selected him, they had already picked a quarterback earlier. He did outplay Dillon Gabriel, but truth be told, that was a low bar to clear.

Reports on Cleveland’s minicamp have been unanimous about who was the best quarterback during practices. Watson, the veteran, is considered the most likely to win the starter job for 2026. This opinion did not make Shilo Sanders happy.

Shedeur’s brother lashed out at Mary Kay Cabot during a livestream, accusing her of having a “negative agenda” against the second-year quarterback. Shilo also said that she needed to “report facts” and accused her of “saying crazy things”:

“If you’re gonna be a reporter, be a reporter and report facts,” Shilo said. “Whenever you have your opinion, and your opinion is always something hateful to Shedeur, then it makes it seem like it’s something weird, it’s like some agenda that you have going on.”

Shilo had earlier faced criticism for a sexist remark, telling Cabot to “go make a sandwich.” However, the older Sanders brother decided to take a different approach this time.

“There are plenty of women in this field that take this seriously and take reporting football seriously and actually do homework and study the game and get the statistics right and get the news right,” Shilo continued. “But with you, it’s so much emotion that I don’t want you to make women look bad when it comes to reporting, because you don’t have the will to actually want to report real things that are going on… When it comes to your opinion, you’ve been saying crazy things since he’s [Shedeur] been there.”

Shedeur finished his rookie season as the starter in Cleveland. He threw for 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, far from guaranteeing his job for 2026 and beyond. According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, he posted an impact score of 56.9, ranking fourth-worst in the league.

Watson tore his right Achilles twice, a tear and a subsequent re-rupture, and did not play in 2025. While no one argues that the Browns’ megatrade for Watson in 2022 was a massive failure, they also have no reason not to play him if they think he gives them the best chance to win games.

The veteran is entering the final year of his fully guaranteed contract, and Cleveland can’t release him or trade him because of the value involved.

Shilo, who criticized Mary Kay’s report, has not signed with any team since he was released from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went undrafted in the same 2025 NFL Draft and did not make the 53-man roster.
