The Seattle Seahawks have defied expectations after a chaotic offseason, and through Week 15, though, the organization’s decisions have been nothing but a smash-hit success.
At 11-3, they are near the top of the conference in terms of record. With three weeks remaining on the schedule, we break down their chances of catching up, both in the NFC West and in the conference as a whole.
What Are The Seahawks’ Chances For NFC’s No.1 Seed?
There was a ton of speculation and doubt about how the Seahawks would fare this season. After a plethora of offseason changes that included parting ways with Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett, it remained anyone’s guess how they would look in 2025.
But Sam Darnold, after a career renaissance with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, has come into his own as he’s paved the way for Jaxon Smith-Njigba to break out into one of the best receivers in the league.
At a pace that would put him near the 2,000-yard mark, Smith-Njigba is already at 1,428 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games, with an absurd 16.0 yards-per-reception average. But what makes Seattle so dangerous is the team’s well-roundedness.
Head coach Mike Macdonald has done an excellent job building a roster that ranks No. 7 in PFSN’s Offense Impact and No. 3 in the corresponding Defense Impact metric.
As a result, even with a daunting schedule that includes games against their two main divisional rivals this season, as well as a clash with the Carolina Panthers, PFSN’s Playoff Predictor has high hopes for the Seahawks.
They had a 95.40% chance of making the playoffs entering Week 15, meaning they are virtually guaranteed unless they suffer a full-blown collapse to close out the season. However, as far as the NFC West is concerned, they aren’t fully out of the race yet.
At 34.40%, they are still in the picture, but way behind the Rams, who are at 54%. Their Week 16 clash could have a significant impact on how the division unfolds. The one-seed is also not completely out of reach, with the odds sitting at 29%.
Seattle hosted the now Philip Rivers-led Indianapolis Colts after Daniel Jones ruptured his Achilles in Week 14. Despite a scare from the 44-year-old veteran, the Seahawks were able to drive down the field to kick a last-minute 56-yard field goal from Jason Myers, his sixth of the day, to win 18-16.

While the win is significant for Seattle, the Los Angeles Rams also emerged victorious in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions, maintaining their lead over the Seahawks in the NFC West and the standings. A win from the San Francisco 49ers keeps the pressure on Seattle, with the 49ers moving to 10-4.

The Seahawks see their chances of making the playoffs rise 3.3% to a practically guarunteed 98.8%. Barring a three-game skid to end the season, Seattle should have no issues making the postseason. However, with Los Angeles’ win, the Seahawks’ odds of winning the NFC West drop 2.4% to 32%.
Seahawks Remaining Schedule
- Week 16: Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams
- Week 17: Seahawks at Carolina Panthers
- Week 18: Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers
Both the 49ers and Rams matchups are must-win games for Seattle if it hopes to stay alive in the race for the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Even Carolina, which has improved significantly over the past month, presents a real challenge down the stretch.
A playoff berth is all but secured for the Seahawks, but if they can win all three of their remaining games, they’ll position themselves as the favorites to lift the Super Bowl trophy.
