The New Orleans Saints are here to stay — and they want to make sure they’re a part of NFL history in the making. Currently housed at the Caesars Superdome, the Saints have been around since 1967, making them one of the newer franchises established after 1960.
Joining the NFL as an expansion team, the Saints originally played out of the Tulane Stadium, which was later shifted to the Caesars Superdome, previously known as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
New Orleans Saints Make Pivotal Announcement About NFL Future
According to new reports, the New Orleans Saints have signed a lease agreement to remain at the Caesars Superdome through the 2035 season. Of course, the aim is to host another Super Bowl soon after their last attempt in 2025 with Super Bowl LIX.
Speaking of the new announcement, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry said: “This is what winning looks like.”
Owner Gayle Benson, on his end, is dedicated to hosting another Super Bowl as soon as possible.
“Discussions about this agreement have spanned two administrations, a global pandemic, and Hurricane Ida. I am totally happy that we will be sending a signed copy of this agreement to the NFL for their approval,” Benson explained.
Benson added that multiple negotiations were made, and all parties devised a formula for “mutual success”. After all, increased footfall for games will also benefit the city.
“We have entered into numerous negotiations with the state, for as far back as I can recall. And each time, a better partnership has been formed with a clearer vision for mutual success for both the state and the team. But more importantly, for our fans. And I am convinced that today, this is the case.”
That being said, the Saints might have to wait some time before signing up to host another Super Bowl. Benson — aware of how successful the 2025 event was — revealed that their attempts to “secure” another Super Bowl are “compressed.”
However, the Saints owner is yet to lose hope.
“Once the NFL approves this lease extension – which I know they will – we will then be allowed to petition the NFL to bid on future Super Bowls,” he added. “I explained to (NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell) that we would, in fact, be back in his office making our best case to host another Super Bowl in the very near future, once this extension was signed.”
How Many Super Bowls Have the Saints Hosted?
Tied with Miami, New Orleans has hosted a total of 11 Super Bowls. The first three were held at Tulane Stadium, and the remaining eight (most in NFL history) at the Caesars Superdome — the home for the team since 1975.
| Stadium | City/State | Super Bowls Hosted |
| Caesars Superdome | New Orleans, LA | 8 |
| Hard Rock Stadium | Miami, FL | 6 |
| Orange Bowl | Miami, FL | 5 |
| Rose Bowl | Pasadena, CA | 5 |
The New Orleans Saints, currently struggling with a terrible 0-4 start to the 2025-26 season, are ranked 23rd in PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric and 29th in PFSN’s Defense Impact metric.
