The New Orleans Saints will be without Alvin Kamara for their Week 13 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. He has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL, so his knee injury will keep him out for at least a game, if not more. Here’s what the rest of their depth chart looks like at the position as they try to replace their star running back.
What Are Saints’ RB Options Without Alvin Kamara in Week 13?
Kamara was officially ruled out for Week 13 on Friday when the Saints released their final injury report. He has been unable to practice this week as he works his way back from a knee injury and New Orleans will now have to turn to the other options on their depth chart. He currently ranks 33rd among all running backs in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for this season, so his absence is significant for their offense.
Devin Neal
Devin Neal is expected to get the start in Week 13 against the Dolphins as Kamara’s direct replacement. This is a huge opportunity for the rookie to make the first start of his career and potentially prove he can be their long-term solution at running back. He has totaled 29 touches for 125 scrimmage yards through seven appearances this year.
The Saints are in the process of rebuilding their roster as they look to set themselves up for future success. Kamara is an aging veteran that will need to be replaced eventually, so this is Neal’s first crack to try to show that he can fill this void for the franchise. They drafted him this year to theoretically do so at some point.
Audric Estime
Audric Estime spent his rookie season with the Denver Broncos last year before joining the Saints for the 2025 season. He has yet to record a touch for his new team, but with Kamara out, this could surely change this week as he’s projected to serve as their RB2 behind Neal. He totaled 81 touches for 337 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie.
Evan Hull
Evan Hull was recelty elevated from the saints practice squad to their active roster following the news of Kamara’s injury that will force him to miss some time. He spent his first two season with the Indianapolis Colts as a depth option, and now serves in a similar role for the Saints. He could potentially see his first game action of the 2025 season in Week 13 against the Dolphins.
