How Many Super Bowls Have the Seahawks Won? A Look at Seattle’s History

Here's how many Super Bowls the Seattle Seahawks have won including a breakdown of their appearances, wins, losses, and history.

The Seattle Seahawks have built their identity on dominant defense and physical football since entering the NFL in 1976, including the “Legion of Boom” secondary in the early 2010s.

While the franchise has captured multiple NFC West division titles, its Super Bowl ring collection is limited.

How Many Super Bowls Have the Seattle Seahawks Won?

The Seahawks have won one Super Bowl ring. Seattle captured its only Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl 48, defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8 on Feb. 2, 2014, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It remains one of the most one-sided Super Bowl championship games in history.

The offense, per PFSN’s Offensive Impact rating, ranked 10th that season with a 78.5 rating, led by then-second-year quarterback Russell Wilson, who completed 63.1% of his passes for 3,357 yards and 26 touchdowns, with only 9 interceptions, while also rushing for 539 yards.

Seattle ranked first in defense per PFSN’s Defensive Impact rating of 91.1, with the fewest yards allowed per game, the fewest points allowed, and the most takeaways.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith won Super Bowl MVP honors after a pick-six and a fumble recovery, while quarterback Wilson threw two touchdown passes. Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin added scoresĀ as Seattle cruised to a blowout win.

Seahawks’ Only Super Bowl Ring

  • The Seahawks’ Super Bowl 48 ring was made by Tiffany & Co.
  • It featured a Seahawks logo composed of 64 round diamonds with a tsavorite eye in an emerald hue.
  • The team’s logo is outlined in blue and framed by 12 diamonds, with a diamond Vince Lombardi Trophy behind it.
  • The trophy is made up of 107 round diamonds, with “World Champions” inscribed on the ring’s borders.
  • The top of the ring is encircled by 40 blue sapphires, with two 12 Flag positions on either side.
  • The sides of the ring tell the story of the team’s season, which includes the club’s season record of 16-3, a view of CenturyLink Field, the 12 Flag, and Mt. Rainier, each individual’s name and number, the Seattle skyline, Super Bowl 48 logo, and NFL shield.
  • Inside each ring are the phrases “Leave No Doubt”, “24/7”, “What’s Next?”, and “SEA 43-DEN 8” — the final score of that year’s Super Bowl between the Seahawks and Denver Broncos at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, as the Seahawks website had pointed out.

Seahawks’ Previous Super Bowl Appearances and Results

Seattle has appeared in three Super Bowls before the 2025 season. Here’s a full look at the Seahawks’ results in those championship games:

  • Super Bowl 40: Lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-10 in the 2005 season.
  • Super Bowl 48: Beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the 2013 season.
  • Super Bowl 49: Lost to New England Patriots, 28-24 in the 2014 season.

Seahawks Have Played the Patriots Once Before in the Super Bowl

The Seahawks will face the Patriots for the second time in Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026. Their previous meeting was Super Bowl 49 during the 2014 season, which Seattle lost 28-24.

Seattle held a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Patriots, led by legendary quarterback Tom Brady, rallied with two late touchdown drives to take a 28–24 lead. The Seahawks attempted a late comeback in the final seconds, but Wilson’s pass was intercepted.

It became one of the most memorable endings in Super Bowl history. For the Seahawks, though, it was painful as they also failed to defend the Lombardi Trophy.
