DB Charles Woodson, Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders could be the surprise team of the year following a productive free agency. If they wanted to surprise people, bring back Charles Woodson, and watch chaos endure.
A nine-time Pro Bowler, Woodson was best known for his ability to create turnovers and shut down a team’s top target. Throughout his 17-year career, the 1997 Heisman winner collected 65 career interceptions, 155 pass deflections and 11 career touchdowns on his way to a Super Bowl victory in 2010.
The Raiders still have a hole in their secondary despite the signing of safety LaMarcus Joyner. While better known in his later years for his role deep back, Woodson could find some success in the slot as a nickel corner. Still a reliable tackler, his skills would at least add depth to an underwhelming defense.
Woodson will soon find a home in Canton. Still, Oakland is crazy and seeing the vocal defensive back on Hard Knocks would add to the must-see TV this Summer.
